It was the last day of school before mid-semester break began, thank God! I don’t know what was more tiring, school, training at night with Brian or being the princess. I had no idea what to do if Max showed up again either. Brian dropped me off at home and I couldn’t wait to shower, eat and take a nap before he came back to pick me up to go to annual meeting where the four packs would be together again to see how all of the newbies had settled in after a few months.

Brian picked me up after dinner, this time I wasn’t going in unaware. Now that I know what I am I just threw on a t-shirt, a pair of my cut off shorts and some converse and put my hair up into a messy bun. We got to the meeting on the Mitz territory. It was a big mansion with a ton of rooms, there was a big auditorium where meeting was, we walked in.

Brian smiled, “It’s good to seeing you without any make up on or dressy clothes for a change.”

Brian was in jeans, a batman t-shirt that said the dark knight under the bat symbol and Vans sneakers.

“And you always look good in anything you wear.” I kissed his cheek and we sat down next to Dylan and Xavier.

They greeted us and told us that Max was here. I rolled my eyes. I knew it was kind of obvious he’d be here… I mean he is one of us, but I thought since he was away for college in Florida that maybe he’d be missing this one.

Brian held my hand, “The three of us are here he shouldn’t try anything.”

I sighed, “I’m actually not worried about Max guys. There’s so much more on my mind. Which gets me thinking, shouldn't you know who the other knights are since you’ve been into this way longer than I have?”

“It’s hard to tell, there’s so much chaos sometimes when we shift; it’s hard to tell who is what.” Dylan explained.

“But still I don’t think it should be so hard to find you guys.” I growled.

“There’s no more of us in Salazar as far I can tell.” Xavier said trying to get me to calm down.

“And I’m the only one in my pack who has markings.” Dylan added.

“What about Steppe?”

“I don’t know. We’ll have to find out if you sense something from anyone tonight.” Brian said kissing my forehead.

I smiled and sat back in my chair.

My ears perked up to the sound of Max’s voice coming from the door. He walked in holding the girl from Hawaii’s hand and stopped right in front of us. I glared at him.

“Hey Cher.” He said smiling.

I raised my brow, “Max.”

“I’m guessing you remember Melissa,” he gestured to her smiling brightly, “my mate from Hawaii.”

She was thin, with long light brown hair and full green eyes. She was pretty and had full perfectly shaped lips.

“I see.” I say forcing a smile, “Nice to finally meet you Melissa.”

She looked at me and smiled nervously, “I- I’m sorry for what happened in Hawaii. I didn’t mean to offend you… it just happened.”

I looked at her studying her; she was clearly nervous and fidgety. Her heart was pounding fast. She was scared of me?

“It’s okay, I forgive you. He’s your mate so it’s understandable.” I tilted my head, “What I’d like to know is why Max is still campaigning to start a war.”

She gasped and looked at Max, “You’re still trying to challenge Thundra?”

He cleared his throat, “It’s not Thundra I’m after.”
