sunlight was shining throw the windows of the cozy cabin. lizzie's humming filled the room along with distant chirps of various birds from outside. she painted her nails scarlet, a shade of red.

tyler laid on his side as he opened his eyes, looking directly at marina who slept peacefully across from him in the twin bed a few feet away from
his.

he sat up as lizzie painted a second coat on her thumb. "morning." he said groggily as he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. "hey" she replied, finished before blowing lightly on her nails.

"melanie told me to tell you to meet her at the bench." she said. ah yes, the bench was basically their hanging spot. it's where they practiced their songs for each other at. the bench looks out onto the big beautiful lake that surrounds one section of the campground.

tyler glanced at melanie's bed that was made neatly and covered in various dolls and throw pillows. "okay." he nodded with a slight smile, as he lifted himself out of bed and fixed the collar of his pale pink t shirt.

after getting dressed, he fixed the curly fluff on top of his hair before skipping out of the cabin, waving bye to lizzie.

he loved summer mornings, the air was slightly cooler and everything seemed to be calm and sit still. he walked down the dirt path, hearing faint voices from behind him. he loved having a cabin deeper back in the woods, it was always quiet.

melanie swung her feet as she sat patiently on the bench. her arms holding a raggedy ann doll tight to her lap. she swung her head around to see tyler when she heard him step on a twig. he waved smiling, she smiled back.

"morning." she greeted him. "morning, hopefully you weren't waiting too long." he giggled as he sat next to her. "no it's only been a few hours." she said calmly. tyler's eyes widened. "an hour?!" he asked looking puzzled.

melanie nodded. "i had a..well.. like a creepy dream and i woke up really early. but it was like a dream where i couldn't really go back to sleep." she said, looking out as the sun was rising higher over the lake. "oh" tyler frowned. "luckily lizzie was awake, so we talked for a bit till i decided to just go for a walk." she crossed her ankles, continuing to swing her legs.

tyler scratched the back of his neck. he's had his run ins with night terrors and he wasn't sure how to console the girl. he asked probably the worst question.

"so what was the dream?" he asked. melanie looked at him. "i was abducted, by this creepy man but he was also a wolf." she said. tyler raised an eye brow. wow. "wow, that's sounds like something." he said. "i know it sounds dumb but it was scarier to experience." she said. "i get that." tyler said.

the two sat there in silence for a bit as they stared out to the lake that reflected the trees surrounding it like a mirror. melanie opened her mouth to begin speaking before she was cut off by an announcement that rang through out the whole campground.

"Good morning. At 10 AM there is an important meeting at the main stage for all singers and musicians. Attendance is mandatory. That is all."

tyler and melanie both looked at each other in curiosity, both sharing the same thought. i wonder what that's about?

the two walked back to the cabin to meet lizzie who was already dressed, her nails freshly painted and marina who was brushing out her wet hair.

"hey you two, where were you?" she asked, continuing to brush her hair. "the bench." melanie walked in first, sitting on her bed. "you guys hear the announcement?" tyler asked, closing the door behind him.

"yeah, wonder what it's about." marina said as she put down her brush and shook her hair out. "we should get going if we want breakfast." lizzie said, motioning to the clock that read 9:17 AM. "let's go!" marina put on a light cardigan over her romper as they all made their way out the door.

"so like he grabbed my hair and it get so real. he pushed me on the ground and it hurt. it was so scary, i yelled but no one came." melanie explained her dream, sipping the rest of her milk.

they were all walking out of the dining hall and following the crowd to the main stage. they sat towards the back of the crowd, as always. after about 10 minutes of sitting around and talking to one another, the audience silenced when mrs. vandertramp walked on stage.

"hello everyone!" she began. "today i gather you all to present our first collaboration project. yes, this will have the singers mix with those who play intstruments." she said with enthusiasm. "the directions are simple. one vocal and one instrument are paired together. the pairs have been decided and are posted on the board which you can see after this. the two will have to create their own original song and be ready to perform for the rest of the camp." she said.

the crowd was filled of murmuring and people whispering to those around them. melanie raised her eyes brows. "sounds interesting!" she said. melanie nodded.

"as always, make sure what you perform is appropriate. it is okay to express your emotions, just don't over do it. and as always have fun, be yourself!" she said. they all clapped as she finished off with. "pairs are on the board. this is for 3 weeks."

everyone made their way eagerly over to the board to see. the four scanned for their names. marina was the first. "oh! i'm with tony perry." she looked around. "i dunno who that is."

"ooh ohh! i got..alex turner?" melanie turned her head, being unaware of who he was.

"brendon urie." lizzie read the board. marina and melanie both looked at her with faces that screamed im so sorry. "who is that?" she asked. "you'll see." marina giggled.

"ty what about you??" marina asked. he stood there staring at the board. he looked back at them with a terrified face. "what?" melanie asked. "i have josh dun." he said in a low tone.
