"be productive you two, i'll be in the other room if you need me." lin smiled as she closed the door, leaving the two teens alone.

tyler sat hunched over, his head down and mouth buried in his crossed arms. feeling awkward as he looked around. josh was sitting across from him, staring at him before he began to speak.

"your song was sick." he said. tyler looked at him, his stare looked annoyed. "is that why you decided to be nice to me all of a sudden?" josh sighed, leaning foreward and resting his head in his arms as well, leveled to tyler.

"is that a bad reason?" he asked. "i dunno.." he mumbled. "look, let's get to the music. i'm sorry we started off roughly, we can restart if you want." josh stood up and held out his hand. "i'm josh, nice to meet you."

tyler looked up at him, raising his eyebrow. what the hell is he doing? he began to grin as he stood up as well. "hi josh, i'm tyler." he replied, shaking his hand.

they both chuckled awkwardly before sitting down again. "okay but seriously, your music is cool. i really liked the one you performed." josh said. "thanks" he picked his journal up from his lap and placed it on the table. "i wrote it myself."

"no way." josh raised his eyebrows. "i could never do that. i mean i can't sing anyway and i'd be too anxious to but even having that much creativity to write a song, it's impressive." tyler smiled slightly. "thanks." he said, wondering how this kid who he hated for the last two weeks suddenly became a new person.

"so you play the drums?" tyler asked. "oh yeah, i do. i'm okay at them, hoping to get better though." he replied. "you should've broughten them!" tyler said. "i will next time for sure."

the two sat in a minor awkward silence. tyler but his lip before speaking. "so what do think we should perform. what type of genre are you interested in?" he asked. josh looked up at the ceiling as he thought.

"well i've always liked rock and punk and stuff like that, but if you could put your own twist on it i think it could be cool." josh replied. tyler nodded his head. "any specific topic?" he asked.

the two worked together for almost an hour and a half, both trying to create lyrics and just talking to one another about themselves. lin checked on them, shocked that they actually were working together. they managed to get a simple idea for what they wanna do. they have a few lyrics so far the chorus:

you are surrounding all my surroundings
sounding down the mountain range
of my left side brain
you are surrounding all my surroundings
twisting the kaleidoscope behind both of my eyes

pretty random, but they liked it.

"it wasn't that bad." tyler played with the slightly curled fluff on the top of his head as melanie was fixing her make up after swimming in the lake. "seriously?" she asked, making a funny face as she applied mascara to her bottom lashes.

"he actually has pretty good taste in music." tyler said. "we worked together well in my opinion, even if he was kinda mean at first, he was different then. i like it." tyler laid back onto his bed.

"you liked it huh?" melanie grinned as she fixed her bangs. "oh shush!" tyler said as melanie giggled. "hey i'm just saying." she put her hands up innocently as if police asked her to. "you've been talking about him to me for the last hour."

"have not."
"have to!"

tyler groaned. "what are you trying to say?" he asked. "nothing." melanie said, putting away her make up bag. "yet." she grinned again. "shut up!" tyler yelled smiling while playfully throwing a pillow at her. melanie laughed as she tossed one back.

they both yelled at each other and laughed while pillows threw throughout the cabin. marina stopped in the door way, looking amused. "what is happening?" she asked with a surprised smile on her face.

"tyler has a crush!" melanie squeaked as tyler whipped another pillow. "i do not!!" he shouted. "oh my god." lizzie watched the two as they acted half their age.

"seriously?" marinas eyes lit up. "tyler who?!". "no no no, i don't like anyone don't listen to her she's making stuff up!" tyler said. he was struck in the head with a pillow. "the red haired kid!" she exclaimed.

"really?!" marina asked. oh my god i hate girls. tyler's face went pink. "i really don't!". all three girls crossed their arms and looked at him, their facial expressions screaming you obviously do.

"seriously! i mean he was really nice and all, and as a musician he was really cool, and does have a really nice face, not to mention his arms are built since he plays the drums, and his hands..." tyler trailed off as he felt his heartbeat increase at the thought of him. "oh no.."

all the girls began to squeal in excitement.
