tyler woke up to the strong smell of bacon. he wake down stairs, hearing the sizzling sound of eggs frying.

he entered the kitchen, his mother smiled as he sat at the table, still trying to fully wake up.

"good morning!" she smiled. "morning." tyler yawned. she fixed him a plate and set it in front of him. "eat quick." she said as she began to wash her hands in the kitchen sink. "marks coming over to get you soon."

tyler smiled. he missed his home friends. he ate breakfast quickly, going back up stairs. he checked his phone to find 2 unread messages from melanie. he smirked as he quickly got dressed.

melanie: goooood morningggg!
melanie: tylerrr ☀️🍳

he began to text her back. she seemed pretty clingy but what she said made sense. technically tyler was the first one to talk to her and be her friend, so of course it's reasonable to attached like that. plus melanie is an intense person so he doesn't blame her. besides he likes it.

he still has josh lingering in his mind though.

he heard his mother open the door and greet mark. tyler walked down stairs to see his friend in the door way, two unfamiliar girls behind him.

"hey ty guy!" mark hugged him as he reached the bottom of the stairs. "wow you got really tan." mark said, tyler giggled. "text me if you need anything." tyler's mom said as he left out the door with mark.

"oh i should probably introduce you." mark said, gesturing to the two girls. "this is jenna." he said, pointing to a blonde girl. she had these beautiful blue eyes and a warm smile. "nice to meet you." she said.

"and this is ashley." he said, pointing to the other girl. tyler wasn't sure if he was being paranoid or if he just really missed josh, but ashley looked just like him. he stared at her till mark snapped him out of it. "tyler?" mark said. "hm! oh hi." tyler smiled embarrassingly. "hey." she giggled.

"alright, well we were planning to walk to frosty's to get some ice cream. sound cool?" he asked. tyler nodded. "sweet! let's go."

the foour walked and talked about their summers so far, tyler talked about the band camp. ashley perked up when tyler talked about it. "my brother went to one too, he just got back yesterday." tyler raised his eyebrows. no way. "wow really? what's his name maybe i know him-" the kids turned their attention to the yelling coming from behind them.

"ashley!" a guy yelled. they watched as he rode his skate board towards them, breathing heavily from the heat. tyler's jaw dropped to the ground at the red hair shining in the sunlight. he finally approached them, trying to catch his breathe.

"y-you forgot your phone. mom made me get it." he said. ashley laughed as she took her phone. "thanks josh." she said. "yeah no proble- oh my god tyler?" josh looked up and his eyes widened when he saw tyler.

"w-what are you doing here?" he asked. "i live down the street." tyler said. josh smiled. "seriously?!"

"am i missing something here?" mark asked. "so this is that tyler?" ashley smirked. josh made a facial expression that said shut up! "we both went to the same camp." he said. tyler nodded. "oh wow cool." mark said. "you wanna come?" he asked josh. "yeah sure." josh grinned as ashley rolled her eyes and groaned.
