~A/N COMMENT BC YOU LOVE ME PLEASE

THANKS BYE~

The first three lessons quickly passed. Only Cade was in my lessons, aside from P.E, and we hardly spoke, unless he was asking me for the answer. I was pretty annoyed with my friends to say the least. They all seemed fine with the new arrival, nobody even bothered to tell me. If they only found out today then surely they’d be a lot more shocked than that? At least none of them take drama, that would be an awful performance.

I had P.E right before lunch, so I had nobody to walk to lunch with. I freshened myself up with some spray, fixed my hair and took a stroll down to the canteen. As I approached, a girl slammed a guitar case into me by accident.

‘’Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!’’ she panicked, her eyes wide. I smiled.

‘’No bother, it’s fine’’

She smiled, saying nothing before hurrying off down the corridor, probably on her way to music practice. Music was always something that interested me. I’ve always wanted to learn the guitar and sing. It just looks so much fun.

I stopped in my tracks when I came to the entrance to the canteen. Our table was full, and she was in my seat. Again. She’s taking everything away from me. I looked over to the corner where Jake usually sits, the table was empty and the new boys weren’t there either. I had a free this afternoon so I had even more time to kill. The queue for lunch was huge and I had no mind for waiting in it all by myself for something I didn’t even want to eat. After much mental debating, I decided I’d go to one of the music rooms. That girl seemed nice, maybe she could teach me to play guitar, it’d be better than being alone all lunch, right?

I made a swift exit from the dinner hall and began a brisk walk towards the music department. There were at least 3 music rooms but I don’t know where that girl went. I guess I’ll just look in all of them seems fair enough.

I pushed open the door of the first room, it was empty. The second room was boys sat playing chess. They all stared up at me and I just slowly backed out of the room. If she wasn’t in this final room, I don’t know where she was.

The faint sound of a strum of a guitar became louder. The echo of a voice floated out of the room as I pushed open the door. Drums kicked in and a voice began to sing. Very well might I add.

I can feel the draw,

I can feel it pulling me back, it’s pulling back

It’s pulling me.

There was a crowd of people, I spotted the girl. She was quite close to the front of the group so I silently weaved in and out of the huddle until I reached her. I was stood right behind her, a second away from tapping her on the shoulder, until I realised…that’s his hair.

I waited until the song had finished. There was a low hum of applause which I contributed to. Everyone started to clear out. Dan and his friends stayed behind, they stood talking, occasionally strumming a tune or tapping a beat. The girl had gone and sat in a corner. I decided to go and talk to her. She had long, dark and thin hair that reached just below her chest. She had light brown eyes and a small smile etched onto her face. She wore minimal make-up and was dressed in the same uniform as everyone, she looked to be the same age as me, she was probably in my year.

‘’Um, hi’’ I said, shyly. She put down her guitar and turned to me.

‘’Hello’’ She smiled back.

‘’I, uh, I’m Alba. I was wondering if you could, maybe teach me to play the guitar, if you have time? Don’t worry if you don’t, it’s cool’’

‘’I’d love to teach you, just grab a guitar from the rack, I’m Francesca by the way’’

I took a guitar and sat next to her.

‘’It’s nice to meet you, Francesca, I’ve seen you around a lot’’

‘’Yeah, I’m in your year’’ she chuckled lightly

‘’Well now I feel stupid’’ we both giggled, drawing unwanted attention to ourselves.

‘’Francesca? What’re you doing with her?’’ Dan approached us. I set the guitar down.

‘’Her name is Alba, and I’m teaching her to play guitar’’ She said. He looked at me, I gave a flash of my hand and broke eye contact.

‘’Why, she’s a bitch’’ My head stayed down. Nobody had ever said that to my face before. I’d normally have had one of my friends stick up for me, or, in the past, Jake would have beat the crap out of him. But no.

‘’No she’s not, Alba’s lovely’’ I smiled up at Francesca who smiled back, ‘’Now leave us alone’’ She obviously knew these boys, which was why he didn’t retaliate to this comment.

‘’Wait’’ I called out, Dan turned back around, ‘’you were singing right? I couldn’t exactly see, I’m kinda short if you hadn’t noticed’’

He stared at me and said nothing.

‘’Yeah, that was me’’

‘’Well you were good, and so were the rest of you’’ I gestured to the other three behind him. He stood looking bewildered.

‘’Uh, thanks, I guess?’’

He didn’t walk away. He looked at me, the guitar, Francesca, then back at me.

‘’I look forward to hearing you perform’’

‘’What? I never said anything about performing’’ I hesitated, looking at Francesca who just shrugged.

‘’If you can play, you can perform, and I’m assuming you can play, you have hands, don’t you?’’

He smirked and turned his back, I’m slowly loosing this battle.
