Today is your day out with Reaper. You go to your closet to decide what to wear. It's difficult because you don't want to be too dressed up, it's not actually a 'date', but you also want to at least look nice. You settle for jeans, a top with a nice jacket over it, and some boots. You still have an hour before noon so you just grab you purse and walk around the HQ for a while.

"Y/N you're looking nice today!" You turn and see Dr. Ziegler. "Thanks." You reply. "I heard you have a date with Reaper." She chuckles and winks. You blush. "What! It's not a date. I mean, we're just wal-" "Oh stop we all know you like him." She breaks in. "You know I think he likes you too." She says teasingly. "Oh I don't know...." You trail off. "Honestly, if he didn't, he wouldn't have anything to do with you. He never takes interest in relationships of any kind. The only relationship he has is one with Soldier 76 and it's not really a positive one, though they have learned to live together and keep peace." She says. You aren't quite sure what to say. She's right, he has no interest in talking to others or being around anyone. Why you? "Anyway, I must be off I have some research to do. Good luck on your date." She says turning towards her room. You both wave.

You continue walking to different areas of the HQ until it is 11:50, when you begin to make your way to the training arena. You make it to the door to find Reaper. He is still in his gear. "Hey, you ready?" He asks. "Yes." You say, shuffling your feet. He grabs your hand and leads down the hall toward sealed large double doors. He presses a button to open them and leads you outside. You focus on his hand.... holding yours.

The both of you reach the road and he tries to wave down a cab to bring you to the city. The drivers slow down, but when they see his mask they continue on with a frightened look. From what you saw the other day his face did look somewhat dead, but with the mask, it surely doesn't help. He starts to get rather frustrated. "Here let me do it." You wave one down and get in the back seat. When Reaper approaches the driver tenses up. "Take us downtown." He says coldly. "Please." You add. "S..sure." the driver stutters out. He speeds to the city and the car remains silent. Reaper doesn't seem to be enjoying it so far, and stares blankly out of the window. You put your hand on his and slightly lean into his side. "Thanks for bringing me out here." You say, trying to lighten things. He doesn't say or do anything in return.

As the car continues, you see tall buildings surrounding you more and more. They are very modern and curved skyscrapers. Way off in the distance you see a dock, and beyond that, the ocean. Everything is almost overwhelming. Traffic begins building up the closer you are to the city. The car starts to go significantly slower. Reaper shuffles in his seat. The driver keeps hastily looking at him through the rear view mirror. "Are you alright?" You whisper to Reaper. "This is fine." Reaper says. "Please stop the car." He adds. The driver does so and Reaper exits quickly. "Sorry about that." You say to the driver, and pay him before exiting.

"I know a better way to travel. Less impolite staring as well." Reaper says. You can see a park down the street a few blocks. "Let's go there," you say pointing. He reaches out to you and pulls you in. What is he doing?!? Suddenly you are in Reaper's arms. You wrap your arms around him as well. A black mist surrounds the both of you. It feels light, airy, and oddly euphoric. You are standing, but the quick silky strands of dark mist make you feel as if you're flying. Suddenly things feel more real again. The pull of gravity feels like an even heavier burden than before. The mist leaves and you are standing at the gate of the park. Did he just teleport the both of you?!

He releases you from his hold and you stand there in shock of everything that just happened. "Sorry if I frightened you." He says, seeing the blank, confused awe on your face. "No!" You blurt out. "I thought it was really cool we should travel like that more often." You hear a quiet stifled chuckle from him. The both of you make your way to the center of the park. It's a green open space with tall trees, a small pond with ducks, and a gathering of benches. You both take a seat at one of the benches and look out at the water. "This breeze feels nice." You say to yourself. "It does." Reaper replies. You turn to see him in a way you never thought you would. His mask was off. He still looked away from you, but it was obvious he wanted to be more comfortable with you.

You weren't sure what to say or do. He finally somewhat looked your way. His face was rough. He was dark but had a gray tinge and looked souless. There were scars all over his face. His eyes were a burning red. Everything looked like a normal man except ashen, lifeless, evil, and beaten up. He had a dark goatee and dark intense eyebrows. Despite his abnormalities, he was still beautiful to you. He began to feel extremely uncomfortable. "I'm sorry. " he says, reaching to put his mask back on. "No." You exclaim, stopping him. "You don't need to wear that. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're an amazing guy... and you look perfectly fine to me," you say. He quickly looks away again flustered at what you said. There was a small moment of silence.

"My name was Gabriel Reyes." He broke in, with an even more sepulchral tone than before. "I was a senior officer in the military, eventually working in Blackwatch. I'm sure you've heard about Soldier 76 and I? We were friends who joined Overwatch together. Later, Soldier 76, or Jack Morrison, became strike commander. I clearly deserved that title. Anyway, tension increased. We got into an argument, many actually, and one day it triggered an explosion in the Swiss HQ." He stopped talking abruptly, and his face became very serious. "It's his fault I'm... like this." Sadness swept over him, but he did his best to hide it. You placed your hand on his arm and he looked toward you. The both of you just gazed at each other for a while. He reached toward you and pulled you in. You rested your head on his chest. The both of you drifted to sleep.

You woke around sunset and the both of you returned to the HQ. Nothing was said during the return to the HQ, but shared glances and small smiles. He fit his mask back on before entering and walked you to your room. "Thanks for inviting me out. I haven't spent time with anyone for.... years." He said. "Thank you for showing me the park." You replied. The both of you stood awkwardly not knowing where to look or what to do next. "Well good night." You said, quickly hugging him. "Good night." He replied, and you went into your room.
