Esme

  I walk into the cafeteria typing away on my phone. Today has been good so far, Zayn kept bothering me in chemistry so we couldn't actually do anything. I mean I didn't mind, the things he was whispering... Good lord. I smile to myself as I walk inside the crowded cafeteria. I hated this place, but it's a good place to hear all the drama. I make my way to the table. I see Harry sitting here along with our other two friends Liam and Maya. Maya is staring at Liam with such fondness is actually really cute. I sit down next to Harry, as he turns his head looking at me. He smiles at me before he slides his chip bag towards me. I happily take some and start munching on them.

     "Thank you Harry." I state nodding as Harry rolls his eyes. He nods opening up his bottle of peach tea and taking a drink. I hum softly as Maya finally she looks at me.

    "Hey Esme. How are you today?" Maya asks me, politeness covering her features. I smile gently nodding after swallowing my bite so I can speak without being rude and showing her my food. I shift in my seat before speaking up finally.

     "I'm amazing. How about you Maya?" I ask, keeping the gentleness in my voice. Maya smiles at me before she nods. Maya starts starts talking about her day, Liam stares at her. These two are so in love, it hurts me. I let my eyes roam the cafeteria, Maya's voice drowning out as my eyes start roaming the large and noisy cafeteria. That's when I let my eyes fall on Zayn's table. I see a girl touching his arm. My eyes stay there, wanting to see what happens. The girl who is touching at Zayn, stares up at him. Her face leaning towards him. I stand up abruptly, my eyes glaring at the two. I turn around, interrupting Maya from speaking. I turn around walking throughout the crowd. My throat becoming tight with so many emotions.

     I make my way out of the cafeteria and into the hallway shaking my head. Of course he would find someone better than me. He's probably forgotten all about me and making out with that stupid girl. I feel someone grab my wrist causing my movements to halt. I turn around seeing Harry standing there. His eyes are filled with so much emotions. I swallow hard before looking away.

      "What's going on Esme?" Harry asks me softly. That's when I noticed I'm sniffling. My heart is thumping fast in my chest. I shake my head staring down at the ground. I can't believe that I'm becoming emotional over a guy. Harry's hand lifts my chin up to make eye contact with me.

     "I think Zayn is cheating on me. He was getting close with someone in the cafeteria." I state quietly. My eyes staring at the green eyes in front of me. Harry frowns softly before he cups my face in his hands. He bites down on his bottom lip before he sighs deeply.

"Esme you don't need to be with him. It's obvious he's just leading you on." Harry tells me softly, causing me to sniffle again. I hate how Zayn has the toll. When I finally thought that Zayn and I could actually be a couple then he's just leading me on. It hurts.

"No one will ever love me though Harry." I state quietly staring at my best friend thanking god for his presence because if he wasn't here with me I would be sobbing horribly in the girls bathroom or something.

"No don't say that. You need someone who willing to be there for you. Who will love you, for you. You're so beautiful Esme. I love you... and not in a friend way." Harry whispers. His words catch me off guard because he starts leaning down as my breathe hitches. What's going on...? Before I can say anything, his lips brush against mine before he places his lips against mine. He kisses me, but I don't kiss back because I'm shocked on what's going on.

"What the fuck is going on here?" I hear a familiar voice state. I pull away before I turn my head seeing Zayn standing there. His arms are crossed in front of himself, his eyes glaring at the both us. I feel my cheeks heat up.
