Chapter 7

MoonPaw's P.O.V

MoonPaw backed up a bit. How much does he know!? She thought in panic.

"I heard some talking around the bush so I came over!"

Meowed CliffPaw, his light brown fur ruffled a bit.

"Oh, okay than, anyways... than you-"

LionPaw's mouth was covered by CliffPaw's paw.

"I'm not leaving till you tell me what's going on."

He meowed and twitched his ear a bit. MoonPaw sighed then opened her mouth to speak when ShellPaw leaped forward.

"Why don't we go check on ThornKit, CliffPaw!"

She meowed and trotted out of the ferns, and dragged CliffPaw out of the ferns with her tail. Well, Who knew ShellPaw could be so.. smart, she thought and looked at her brother, LionPaw gave a slight shrug and padded out. Ugh... this'll be a long storm... she thought and padded out and stretched. The day started to get late and JayLeap decided to send out another hunting patrol and search party.

"I want HoundFang, YarrowClaw, RainHeart, and HeatherBird, to go on a hunting and search party for the Noon patrol."

Called JayLeap, padding over to PikeStar. MoonPaw watched DoveHeart walk with MeadowFang through the entrance of the Warriors Den.

A Moon Later....

MoonPaw stretched and looked around the camp and saw ThornKit sitting with his mother, and her paw on his back, and tail wrapped around him. She's been so protective of him lately... she thought and sat up and saw DoveHeart gesture for her to come hunt, MoonPaw leaped up and padded over to DoveHeart. As MoonPaw stood by DoveHeart's side, DoveHeart glared down at MoonPaw. What's that face for? She thought, why are you so angered around me? DoveHeart twitched her tail and growled a bit.

"You should've gotten here Quicker!"

She hissed, her icy blue eyes burning with anger, MoonPaw flinched a bit then sighed.

"Sorry, i was in a bit of a-"

"I don't care about why you were late, just get here quicker next time!"

She growled back and stomped out, and twitched her tail for her to follow, MoonPaw rolled her eyes and pelted over and followed the black she cat.

They entered the pine forest, it was now cold and the grass was frosted. It so beautiful... she thought and saw DoveHeart twitch her whisker, than look at MoonPaw.

"I'm going to hunt at the border, you go hunt somewhere."

She meowed and bounded off to the border, MoonPaw nodded and padded through the pine tree forest. She soon noticed a rustling bush, she got into a hunting crouch and leaped into the bush, and clawed the thin squirrel beneath her. She picked up the prey and padded out of the bush and put it on the ground and saw a ruffled piece of snow, the bit of snow moved than stopped. MoonPaw leaped onto the moving part of snow and clawed it, it was a thin vole. Its something... still, its been so long since the snow storm, i thought all the snow would be gone by now... she thought, and picked up the vole and padded back to the squirrel she had caught and put it down on the small pile.
She picked up the two pieces of prey and tried to find DoveHearts scent, she followed it to an open area, she could here a faint voice, she hid in some bushes and padded through them, trying not to be heard or smelled. The voices got louder, than she could hear them clearly now.

"You follow my lead, understood?"

Growled a she cats voice, there was a bit of silence than the voice spoke again.

"I hope you understand that he must be dealt with by next moon or sooner, if we do it too late than war will be waged, understood?"

"I know captain obvious! Can we hurry this up, my apprentice is waiting..."

Growled back a familiar voice. MoonPaw flinched at the response, than she darted out of the bush. Why was that voice so famil- she suddenly bumped into her mentor, than back up.

"Where were you? I was worried you were captured too, next time tell me when your going to wander off, mouse brain."

Growled DoveHeart as she flicked her tail and turned around to pad off, when MoonPaw saw her glare back at her and growl a bit and bounded away. What's her problem? She thought and followed after her.

MoonPaw entered camp and noticed MeadowFang and ThornKit, she was nuzzling the small Dark gold Tom, and saw that WolfHeart was talking with CrookedTail, and LeapWing sat alone near the nursery.

"They seem so distant from each other..."

She meowed out loud, than realized she said it out loud. DoveHeart padded over to the she cat, and talked to her. Now she's in good spirits.... she thought and noticed how MeadowFang was teaching ThornKit a fighting move, she padded over and smiled at the kit.

"Hey, wanna see an awesome fighting move, DoveHeart taught me?"

ThornKit looked up and nodded, than hopped around MoonPaw.
