Ch32 Raiders

Michael's POV

"I-I sh-should sleep." Rory said as she got up from me. "Wait!" I said and I can see that she's blushing furiously. She didn't stop but she just looked at me and proceeded to go to the bedroom. I followed her inside and I saw her laying on the bed with sheets above her which caused her to look invisible. "Hey, about the kiss" I said as I sat on the edge of the bed and lie down with her.

"What do you feel for me?" I asked hoping that she'll say what I think she'll say. She didn't answer so I just told her how I feel. "Well, I like you, Rory" I said and I felt that she became calm. I pulled away the sheet that's covering her face. When I saw her face, she looked surprise, happy. She didn't cry or anything, she just hid. "I like you too" She said and I kissed her. "Let's go to sleep" I said. "I have to eat first you know?" She said and I almost forgot that its just 7:00pm and all of us eats dinner at 7pm. "Oh yeah, sorry" I said as the two of us laughed.

We walked outside of the apartment while we're holding hands and I can see that she's happy, shy, I don't know...Girls... "See you two get along." I heard dad as he walked towards us. "Dinner's ready anyway." He said. "Hope you'll like dinner" I said unsure of what we're going to eat. "What are we going to eat?" She asked. I think that its a rabbit but I don't know on how she's going to react 'cause she once told me that she is an animal lover.

"We're having rabbit?!" She asked a little surprised. "W-w-well-" I stuttered. "I love it!" She said and that surprised me. "Well, y'know what? My previous group used to cook rabbits if they found some in our traps. I kinda got used to it." She said and she made me smile.

"Alright, let's all bow down our heads and pray." Dad said as he lead the prayer for the dinner to the whole camp. Everytime we're going to have dinner every Saturday, the town gathers in the auditorium that we cleared out  and have dinner there.

After we pray, we all started to eat with the whole town. "Anyway, mind if I ask you? Where you from?" Dad asked Rory. "I'm from Kentucky then moved to Atlanta." She said. "Well, me and my son are from Lousiana." He said. "No wonder where you guys got the recipes and accents from?" She said while laughing with. I mean, it's true y'know? Cajun people get those recipes from generations and generations. If my mom is still alive, I'm sure that she'll be the cook here that everyone will enjoy her cooks.

After the dinner, Rory and I headed back to our room and chatted about our histories. "Look, that doesn't mean if I'm from a city I won't hunt. My step dad and I used to go hunting in the foresta and w would even go to different states such as in Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, Lousiana, and sometimes, we go to Canada for hunting trips." She said. "Well, my dad and me used to go to the swamp and forests in Lousiana, only, and we mostly catch fish, squirrels, rabbits, bucks, turtles, gators..." I said. "You mean, you never go to other states before?" She asked me. "Of course I've been through states before but we never hunt there." I said. "How's city life anyway?" I asked her and she looked at me. "It's alright but I mostly enjoy being on country sides 'cause it's so peaceful and clean and wide." She said and the two of us kissed. When we kissed, I kept wondering on what she's gonna be like if she knew who I really am. "Y'know what? When I was still with my first boyfriend, we've never completed a kiss before because of my friends kept popping out if nowhere." She said with a smile and that made me smile too, 'cause I am the first guy that she kissed completely.

When the two of us are lyin' on the bed, Rory fell asleep with her head on my chest... *knock knock*... I heard somebody knocke on the door.

"Dad" I said when dad stood in front me when I opened the door. "We need to talk." He said seriously as I walked out of the room.

Dad and I went to the meeting spot for where the town officers meet if there's a meeting.

"Earlier in the morning, we found a camp that's in the forest and they look like that they have plenty of supplies." One of the town ranger said. If you said town ranger here, it means that they're the ones who go out to scout and to report other camps. "It's located 18miles west from the camp." Dad said adding an information. "We will go to that camp tomorrow." Dad said. "So ready tour weapons and stuff and get ready to raid. Now don't let Rory know about all of this yet." Dad said and he is also generally talkin' to me. "Dismiss" Dad said and the officers walked out of the room, leaving me and my dad alone in the room.
