That One Night

Part 1

Barry's POV

I decided to go to the bar our new meta hangs out at, and i asked Caitlin to come with me. Lately I've been having feelings towards her....so i hope this won't be awkward. I was waiting at one of the tables for her to show up. I heard the door open and i turned my head towards the door only to see her. She looked beautiful wearing that short, black, and tight fitted dress. It showed off all the curves in her body.

"Cait you look....wow" I can barely get the words out of my mouth

"Thanks Barry" She replies taking a seat across from me

"So this is the place Shawna Baez and her boyfriend used to hang out at?" She asks me

"Yeah. I just thought we could see if they show up, so do you want anything to drink?" I ask about her standing up

"Sure why not"

I get up to get a few shots of whiskey, even though I couldn't get drunk, i decided i might as well drink with Caitlin so she wasn't drinking alone. Right as I set them down Caitlin quickly takes a shot.

"Caitlin you know we're supposed to be watching for them right? So we need to stay a little sober" I told her a little confused

I never thought she was much of a drinker?

"Yes and that's why you're here. So let's try relaxing a bit and enjoy tonight" She says taking another shot

I looked at her and I was surprised how quickly she was taking shots, but as long as she didn't go overboard, there was no problem in having a little fun tonight.

As the night progressed there was no sign of Shawna but what I did see was an extremely drunk Caitlin. I knew she was drunk so I got out of my chair and went to the bar.

"Excuse me can I get some water?" I asked the bartender

As I'm waiting for the bartender to notice me, I heard someone yelling my name. I turned around to see Caitlin calling my name on stage.  What was she doing?

"Barry come up here with me!" She yells standing at the microphone

"Barry Barry Barry!" The crowd starts chanting with her

So she wouldn't be any more humiliated, I decided to jog up on stage with her.

"Cait I don't sing and you definitely don't drink. How about we just go sit down?" I suggested but the music was already playing, at least it was a good song

Summer Nights eventually started playing and Caitlin of course pours her heart out. I've always liked singing, so it was fun doing it on stage, even though Caitlin was very drunk.

"I didn't know you were such a good singer" She says grabbing another drink off the counter, she then started laughing.

"I gotta use the bathroom" She tells me nearly falling over

As I am closing up our tab I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Hi Barry" This pretty women said to me

"Hi....How do you know my name?" I asked her a little confused

"Barry Barry Barry" She begins whispering

"Oh yeah, sorry if we weren't any good" I apologized

"That was some of the best singing I've heard up on that stage" She says as we both start laughing

"So was that your girlfriend up there?" She asked me

I don't know how to answer that? Of course I like Caitlin but we aren't together or anything. I was hoping maybe soon I could get the courage to ask her out, so I didn't want to get in a relationship right now.

"Yeah...sorry " I finally decided on saying, it wasn't like she knew I was lying

"OK well it was nice to meet you Barry" She says walking off

I sat at the bar waiting for Caitlin to come back because she needed to go home. I then felt someone fall against my shoulder.

"I don't feel so good" She says holding her stomach

"Let's get you home" I said picking her up bridal style and running her back to her apartment

"Have we stopped running?" Caitlin asks as I set her down

"Yes now let's get you into bed and maybe some water" She led me to her room and opened the door

She walks over to her closet and starts to un-zips her dress. No matter how much I wanted to look, I knew I couldn't exploit her like that, so I turned around.

"Barry it's OK to look" She says turning me around

I felt my cheeks get extremely hot as I took in her body. I'm a terrible person to look at her like this.

"Cait you are drunk" I said moving my eyes away from her

"Can you help me?" She asks pointing to her dresser

I quickly change her so she is completely covered up and I put her in bed, as I started to leave she stops me.

"Wait...can you stay with me till i fall asleep?' She asks

"Of course" I reply as I take a seat next her

As she falls asleep, I think over our time together and I wish I had the guts to say some of these things out loud. I like her...alot.

"Cait I just want you to know I'm getting over Iris, and everyday I spend with you my feelings for you grow. I think I'm starting to fall for you....and I think you beautiful. I don't know if you're ready to move on, but hopefully you will be soon. The minute I woke up from that coma and saw you...my life got better" I finally said

I started to leave but before I did, I gave her a kiss on the forehead.

Tonight was fun and I really won't forget it. It was the first time I had the courage to say how I feel out loud, even if she wasn't aware of it. Hopefully we will get a chance soon.
