That One Night

Part 2

Caitlin's POV

I woke up with bright light coming from the window and a massive headache.

"What happened last night?" I ask myself

The last thing i remember was drinking. I was drinking a lot with Barry and laughing?

I looked around and took the aspirin he must have left me. That was sweet.

"What time is it....oh no i'm late!" I got up and walked into the bathroom carefully trying not puke

After about an hour i was finally ready and I left for work. Hopefully no one will notice how late I am. After what seemed like forever I walked into S.T.A.R labs to see Barry waiting for me.

"Hey Caitlin how are you?" He says handing me a cup of coffee

"I'm fine, but I don't really remember much of last night" I told him, and I really wish I did

"That is probably for the best" Barry says in all seriousness before turning away from me

"What happened last night?" I questioned taking a seat by the computer

"Well you drank a lot and ended up singing on stage, so it was a pretty fun night" He told me, but he wouldn't actually turn around and look at me

Why was he acting so weird?

"Are you joking?" I asked not believing him

"No but don't worry you pulled me up there with you, so you weren't the only one humiliated" I could hear him starting to laugh

I thought back to last night and a few things started to come back to me.

"Who was humiliated?" Cisco asks walking in

"No one" Barry and I say in unison

"OK? Well did you guys see anyone last night?" Cisco asks taking a seat next to me

"Well I didn't see anything" Barry says looking towards me

I was really glad they didn't show up because I wouldn't be able to do anything if they did. And it's really weird but Barry is acting distant towards me? Maybe it was just me?

"I'm going to go check out some stuff down at the accelerator" Cisco says walking out

"Barry are you ok? You are acting strange? Did something happen last night or something?" I asked him

"No you didn't do anything" He whispered scratching the back of his neck

He only does that when he is nervous.

"Well something must have happened because are acting quiet and scratching the back of your neck, you only do that when you're nervous or feeling awkward" I told him

I paid attention to him too.

As soon as I said that, Barry grabs my shoulder and pulls me close to him so I'm looking him in the eyes.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean too"

I didn't know how long we were gazing at each other but we eventually heard someone clear there throat.

"Ahem....Sorry to break up this love fest but I think I figured something out" Cisco says smiling all goofy

That brought our attention back to him and he pulled up something on the computer.

Barry's POV

How could I not look at her? It was hard to keep my eyes off of her. After last night I find myself even more nervous around her than before, I don't know what I would have done if he came a minute later?

"So Cisco what did you have to show us?" I asked him

"Well while you two were staring at each other for 10 minutes, I realized that if we trap her in an isolated space where she can't see anything we will be able to catch her"

"Well how is Barry going to that if she just disappears every time she sees him?" Caitlin asks Cisco

"Well....we just need to lead her to an empty building where there is no windows or doors, that way she had no way out. There has to be a few warehouses that fit that description" I explained to her

"Exactly"

Cisco than stands up and goes downstairs where he keeps all of his tech stuff. This left just Caitlin and I.

"So are you going to finish telling me about last night?" She asked me

"Oh....well maybe later. I'm going to go help Cisco" I told her rushing downstairs after him

When I saw him, he just stood and looked at me with his arms crossed.

"What's going on?" He asked me smiling like he knew some sort of secret

"What do you mean?" I ask confused

"Don't give me that. You and Caitlin obviously have something going on. I could tell how awkward you two were being with each other. So what happened?" He asks me once again

"There is nothing going on" I told him hoping he couldn't see how red my face was getting

"Sure" He says, and I can tell he was not convinced

It's not that I didn't want anything to happen between Caitlin and I, but it was just complicated. I don't even know if she likes me that way. I sound like I'm in middleschool.

Ring Ring Ring

The computer goes off and both Cisco and I run upstairs to the computers.

"Peek a boo is at the train station" Caitlin explains and I get my suit on and rush out the door

As soon as I get there, I see Shawna and her boyfriend about to get on the train.

"Guys she is trying to escape" I say through the headset

"Shawna you need to come with me" I said walking towards her

"Why so you can lock me up? I haven't done anything!" She yells back at me

"Maybe next time you shouldn't break out a criminal" I reply pointing at her boyfriend who just took off running

I chased her around for awhile since she was moving from place to place until I remembered what Cisco said. I grabbed her and ran her into an abandoned building.

"Where are we?" She asks angry, well I would be angry too if someone took me to an abandoned building

"I took you to a place you can't get out of, now let's go" I said running her back to S.T.A.R labs and into to the prison

"Good job Barry. Well I got to go, I will see you two tomorrow" Cisco says walking out

He left me and Caitlin and it was pretty awkward again.

"Barry what did you mean earlier?" Caitlin asks bluntly

"Last night was amazing and fun, and I know you don't remember it all, but hopefully you will because I sure won't forget it" I tell her

I just walked out after that. I didn't want to tell her everything about last night quite yet, but hopefully I i made some of my feelings clear.
