The sirens started to howl behind us as I tried to find a way to get rid of them."Police!" The water bag behind me laughed.
"Listen, pisser, I appreciate that now all of sudden you have a mouth but now is not the freaking time. If I don't concentrate I'll end up in jail again. For a lifetime."
"Daadaaa daaadaaa daadaaa daaadaaa" he imitated the police car.
I growled, taking the next curve into the highway.
I knew this was risky, knowing that I could end up having an accident, but I needed to flee, I could not rot in jail.
Besides, I bought a fucking expensive chair for him, he would survive any kind of accident.
I sped up again, one car had already lost me.
Two to go.
I speed up a little more and then I took the sharp gateway, speeding a little more. I was now driving about 170 mph.
Leah's Point Of View.
I yelled out in frustration when we lost him.
He had my - our son after all, I could not leave him with Jaymi, Hayden did not know one damn thing about raising a child, let alone mend it for 3 hours.
"Miss, I'm sorry we lost them."
I know.
"Can you track them down? I'm sure I can find his phone number somewhere!" I told the police officer.
"Good idea, miss, do you have it?"
"No but a friend of mine does."
Hayden's Point Of View
I took the plate and sat down beside him as he looked me with those big brown eyes Leah had too.
"Here, that's for you." I said, handing him the happy meal.
Wait.
Does he even have teeth?
"Open your mouth."
He kept it closed.
"Open your freaking mouth, kid." I said, but he still didn't do it.
Remind me not to have annoying kids when I'm older.
The irony is that I have a kid already.
Like a junior.
Hayden junior.
I feel sick.
"I'm not gonna tell you that again, open your mouth or I will do so for you." I told him through gritted teeth.
Shyly he opened his mouth, showing me his teeth.
Thank god.
"Ok, now eat."
"Am not hungwy." He spoke, shaking his head as he was getting off his seat.
"No, no, no! You stay here and eat your freaking happy meal, I paid for that crap!" He spoke.
"No." He told me.
"No?" I raised an eyebrow in suspicion.
He shook his head.
"Kid, you're getting your ass back up here and eat the happy meal now or I will come and get you."
He stood there, looking at me as if I was an alien.
This wasn't working, how could I get him to trust me?
Think, Hayden.
"C'mere, look, there's a toy in there, do you wanna have it? It's a hotwheels car." I said with as much enthusiasm as I could fake.
I know it had worked when he say down and opened that happy meal box.
I nailed that one.
Leah's Point Of View
"Got it!" I told them as soon as I hung up on Luke who was very hesitant about giving it to me.
"Good." The police officer said,"what's it?" He spoke in his Irish accent.
I gave him all the numbers, making sure to check twice before then walking to the car to find them on their navigation thing.
"Code 304 guy kidnapped child, location: mall wellington. Waiting for command." He spoke into the speaker.
Mall wellington? What were they doing there?
