Ethan was just born when he was left on the doorstep of an orphanage. The name 'Ethan' was scribbled across a piece of paper that laid on him in his little basket. Before the lady came to the door, a beautiful being appeared next to him. She smiles softly at the cute baby. He giggles.
"You are special." She whispered to him. She lays her hand on his head. "You'll be the one to bring everyone together." She closes her eyes and Ethan was tied to five different beings souls. The being disappears as elderly lady opens the door. She spots the small child on the doorstep and lifts him into her arms.
"Hey, little cutie." She hums to the bundle in her arms. He makes baby noises and the lady coos. She takes the child in, giving him a home and food.
Ethan was never adopted or taken in as a foster kid. Eventually, he gets a job at 10, helping pay for stuff at the orphanage. He helped as much as he could. At 12, the lady who owned the orphanage passed away. Ethan ran away, scared to be put into the system. He lived on the streets until the age of 14 when he got a job at The Red Eye and built his way up from there.
Ethan saw the good in every being and was friends with just about everyone he met. Although, he didn't know many beings personally. He has met many through his work. Ethan lived in the main city; all beings work equally together here. Other cities and towns can be mainly a being, though.
The Red Eye was a very popular restaurant. Everyone went there, especially if they had money. Ethan was lucky to get a job there. He was flirted with every day, by both genders. It brought in more customers, which made the manager think of him as good luck.
A blaring noise sounds through the small apartment and a groan escapes a bundle under some blankets. His hand hits the top of the alarm clock. The annoying noise turns off and the human sighs as he pushes the blankets off. Ethan runs a hand through his orange red hair.
He stands, heading to his bathroom to change and clean himself. He was tired, beyond tired. But he still pushed through. After putting on his uniform, which was a button up shirt, slacks, and a cute black vest, he headed out of the apartment. He greets his landlord, Jack, with a simple hello.
Jack smiles, watching the cute kid make his way down the street.
Ethan enters his work and his friend, Kevin, stood at the door waiting on him.
"The door is open." Ethan comments.
"I only want you to serve me."
"Everyone knows you wait on me." Everyone knew a lot of customers waited until Ethan showed up to work. He was cute and energetic even this early in the morning. A lot of beings appreciate it.
The two enter the fancy restaurant, Ethan heading towards to back to put on his apron and to clock in.
"Morning, sunshine." His co-worker, Jeffery, says. He's one of the main cooks.
"Good morning, Jeff. How are you this morning?"
"I'm doing good. How are you?"
"Tired, but good. It's just been a long weekend." Ethan gets one day off a week and typically it's Wednesdays. He works throughout the weekend, which is the busiest time.
"I know, kid. Now, get your cute butt out there and get to work." Jeff winks at Ethan who cheekily smiles in response. Jeff has been trying to get in Ethan's pants ever since he turned 16, which is the legal age in their new world.
"Your eyes are like the burning amber color when the sun sets at dusk. Your hair is as soft as a feather as I run my fingers through it." The poet of the day goes to Ethan's regular, Gilbert. Gilbert's favorite activity is to make poems about Ethan until one day, Ethan falls in love with him for it. It's been two years but he hasn't given up yet.
