Ethan jumps into a puddle, hopping along happily.

"You're in an expensive suit and you're jumping in mud puddles," Seth grumbles, trying to grab his soul-bound.

"Yes," he replies as he jumps into another puddle. Seth finally caught his hand, holding him against his side. It didn't stop Ethan as he stomps in another one.

"You're twelve."

"I'm 18, thank you."

Ethan and Seth make it to Ethan's apartment building.

"I'm on the third floor."

Seth looks at the rundown building, wincing at the amount of different lower beings that lived there.

"My landlord usually is right inside. His name is Jack; he's a vampire." Seth nods at that. Ethan buzzes them in. Seth's nose wrinkles at the smell. It wasn't a bad smell, just not a clean smell. Very.. musty?

Ethan didn't seem bothered by it, greeting the vampire behind the desk.

"Hello, Jack! How are you today?"

"Ethan! Didn't see you yesterday. Everything okay?"

"Yeah, everything is fine. I just kind of met someone."

Jack glances to the demon beside Ethan. The aura of power radiates from him. Jack frowns at the expensive taste in clothes. He also notices Ethan was wearing something equally as expensive.

He can't lose Ethan to the demons.

"Are you sure, Ethan? If you're not safe, I can help you."

Ethan shakes his head, smiling brightly at Jack. "He's my soul-bound. So I'm okay. I promise. If not, I'll come back, I promise."

"Always welcomed here. You've paid for the rest of the month. So you have until then to move."

"Alright, thank you, Jack."

"Not a problem, kid."

Seth had stayed relatively quiet through the exchange. Ethan brushes against him.

"Everything okay?"

"You've lived here for five years?"

"Roughly, yeah. When I was ten, Jack hired me on for little chores because he had a crush on Miss Ruby, the orphanage lady. Until she passed away two years later. I then ran away. A year later, at 13, Jack had found me and offered me a place to stay as I continued to work for him. From then on, he kind of looked out for me. Like a dad, I guess. Henry is his brother. So once I hit 14, Jack hit up Henry to get me hired on."

Seth nods. "So if Jack is like your dad, Henry is like your uncle?"

"Yeah, exactly! That's why I tell you I'm always safe with them. After Miss Ruby passed, Jack had started looking for me. Two werewolves were how he found me. Jack has all sorts of connections. It was a relief, honestly. Trying to survive on the streets wasn't easy.."

Seth notices the change in Ethan's face. Ethan talks about the orphanage and living here a lot. But the streets never really get brought up. Seth wonders why..

"Anyway! Here we are!" Ethan's mood flips as he opens the door.

It didn't have much. A couch, a small tv, a coffee table, most older than Ethan himself. The kitchen had a few dishes, cereal sat on the counter.

It was small, everything was basically one big room. A room smaller than his own bedroom, but it was homey.

Ethan looked proud of it. "Make yourself at home. I'm going to eat some cereal before we start working." Seth nods, looking around the room some more.
