"I'm so sorry!" an exhausted Ethan exclaimed, backing away quickly from the demon.

"As you should be! Do you have any idea who you just ran into?" Ethan shakes his head, looking towards the smaller demon.

"No, I'm sorry still!"

"Beg for forgiveness!"

"Johnathan, that's enough. I'll handle it." The demon Ethan ran into grumbles.

Ethan's vision starts to blur though, swaying softly.

"But, Seth, he's a human. He has no right-"

"I said I'll handle it."

Ethan goes to speak but his eyes roll back and everything goes dark.

Seth curses, grabbing the boy before he hit the ground.

"Leave him to the night prowlers. We have a schedule to meet," Jonathan states impatiently.

Seth rolls his eyes at his best friend. "I'm not going to do that. Head into work, I'll take him back to my place."

"Seth, but-"

"No buts, I ran into him. He's my responsibility."

Jonathan rolls his eyes. "Fine. But humans are nothing but trouble."

Seth nods at the warning, lifting him bridal style. "Thanks. See you tomorrow."

The two part ways as Seth makes his way back to his house. He travels up to his guest room, laying the fragile being on the bed. Seth brushes the hair out of the boy's face, feeling parts of his soul awaken.

"Oh fuck."

Seth realizes quickly this boy was his soul-bound. He sighs to himself, noting it to himself to talk to the human about it when he woke him. For the time being, he should probably get a doctor to check him out.

The human ended up sleeping all night, Seth staying by his side as he did a little work on his laptop. An IV had been placed in his arm due to him being dehydrated.

It was about 10 in the morning before he stirred. Seth looks up, hearing a soft groan from the boy as he carefully sits up.

"Good morning," Seth states, looking back down at his laptop to finish this email.

"Good morning?" Ethan answers, his mind a little foggy, not fully registering what's going on. He looks at the guy in the chair, his fluffy black hair messy, his black eyed meeting Ethan's. It finally clicks. "Wait, where am I? Who are you?"

"You're at my house, in my guest room. I'm Seth, the demon you crashed into yesterday." Seth closes the laptop, setting it on the nightstand. "Now, who are you?"

"I'm sorry..." Seth waves it off. "I'm Ethan. What happened?" Seth watches as Ethan looks puzzled at the IV.

"You blacked out from exhaustion and dehydration."

"Oh."

"Oh? That's all you have?"

"Thank you for helping me," Ethan states with a blush.

"Why do you seem so calm about the situation? Has this happened before?"

Ethan goes to open his mouth before closing it again.

"I've passed out before. It happens from time to time." Seth frowns at that. "But usually it happens in my own house. So.. this is new to me. I'm not sure how to act. You did just save me from being eaten alive. Which thank you again. You could've just left me on the streets."
