Prologue: Let's get divorced Pt.1

Third POV

A girl, who appeared to be around eight, sat on a swing rocking herself slowly, her feet never leaving the ground. The sun looked ready to set causing the sky to turn pink, orange, and yellow. She was looking down at her feet that were hidden in her shadow.

As she continued to push herself, a boy who also appeared to be eight walked into the playground that she was in. "Nayeli!" The young boy called out to the lonely girl. Nayeli looked up confused on who called her, "Evan?".

"Hey...why are you alone?" Evan asked looking around the playground to see no one at all. "There was kids here but they all left with their mommy's and daddy's since its getting late," Nayeli said as she stopped pushing herself and pointed at the sky.

"Why are you still here then?" Evan asked innocently with a small head tilt. "Mommy's at work." Nayeli said looking up at Evan. She stood up from the swing, heading to the slide.

"Where is your daddy?" Evan asked as he followed her to the slide but not going up. "Jasper is off having an affair with my mommy's assistant," Nayeli said with no emotion in her voice.

"What's in a-aff-oir?" Evan asked as he tried to say 'affair'. Nayeli went down the slide placing her feet on the floor before she could fall off of the slide.

"It's affair. And that's when your father goes and says he loves someone else so he gives kisses to someone who isn't your mommy on the lips," Nayeli stood up and walked over to Evan, "Why are you here?". "I saw you so I came to play." Evan looked away as his cheeks were tinted with red. "But why?" Nayeli asked not very pleased with his answer.

"B-Because I wanted too," Evan said as he forced away his blush and faced her once more, "Is that a problem?". "No it isn't...." Nayeli said as she took a step away from him. Evan gave a mental sigh as Nayeli stepped back.

"So wanna play?" Evan asked her with a hopeful smile. "Sure," Nayeli said giving him a smile in return, "What should we play though? Since its only two of us...".

"Good point," Evan said as he started to think of a game, "How about we just play on the swing?". "Oka-Oof!" Nayeli was cut off as she was knocked over. "Nellie!" A young girl who seemed to be seven yelled as she gave Nayeli a tight squeeze.

"Hey Corey..."Nayeli breathed out as she was losing air. "Corey! Let her go!" Evan yelled a bit irritated, "You're suffa-suffocating her!". Corey looked up at Evan annoyed before releasing Nayeli. "Thank you," Nayeli said as she took in a deep breath, "I thought I was going to die".

"I'm sorry..." Corey said as she looked down at her feet. "Its okay Corey, you were just excited to see me" Nayeli said giving her a soft smile.

Corey automatically started to smile so brightly, Nayeli thought she would go blind. "What were you guys up to?" Corey asked as she looked at Nayeli and Evan.

"We were gonna play on the swing but since your here wanna play tag?" Evan asked as he looked over at Nayeli which she noticed and returned the stare. "Sure..." Corey said glaring at Evan for stealing Nayeli's attention, "Evan's it!!".

Corey bolted away after grabbing Nayeli's hand and running away. "Wha-Hey!" Evan yelled as he ran after them, "Come back here! That wasn't fair!". "You snooze you lose!" Corey yelled as she laughed like a maniac.

Nayeli slowly started to smile. That smile soon turned into a laughter as she started to run with Corey. Both Corey and Evan noticed which made them smile and laugh, 'Finally'. The kids ran around the playground trying to catch each other.
