"Well yeah that's about everything you need to know." We've been walking for a while now, the sun was high in the sky, the air still cool from late winter.
"I'm sorry you had to go through all that." She kicked at the dirt and I shrugged.
"The past is the past right? Besides at least I'm alive".
We walked in silence for a minute or two, before I noticed something from the corner of my eyes. I took my glasses off rubbing my eyes and put them back on looking towards the treeline."What is it?" She said picking up on my odd behavior.
"I don't know. I guess I just saw something. It was probably nothing, but I'm going to check it out anyway." I walked off towards the location and the crunching leaves behind me, said she followed. The hell was that?
I walked past the first tree and got pushed down into the floor. I slid across the dirt a few inches and looked up to see him. Big tough Cameron Carson himself."What're you doing out here with my girlfriend punk?" He dropped his tackle box and fishing pole, angrily approaching me. Now me, being on the ground, thought he looked like a giant like from Gulliver's Travels. I somersaulted backwards onto my feet and faced him.
"Dude chill. Let's not fight okay?" I half smiled nervously. There's no way I'm getting out of this without at least forty broken bones."Cam, chill. He's just a friend." Emily stood between us and I was actually thankful.
"Yeah he better be. Or little twig will get snapped over my knee." He pointed at me shouting. And I shrunk back defensively.
"Leave him alone Cam." She said strongly and he stood down.
"Fine. Let's get out of here." They started walking off and she looked back apologetically.
I gave her my best it's okay look.
After they dissapeared from sight, I brushed myself off and continued on my walk. Now alone. Fucking dickhead... He'll get his someday. After another ten minutes or so, my phone went off, blaring a techno Mortal Kombat remix. I pulled it out opening the message and, it was from Emily.
Hey, I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't know he'd be out there today. He usually goes fishing on Sundays. I'm sorry again, I'll see you at school tomorrow okay? It's nothing personal. Have a good rest of your day Nate.I popped open my keyboard and responded it's okay. I'm used to that stuff. And yeah it's fine, I know it's not personal. See you tomorrow Emily.
I locked my phone screen and took a step forward. The ground suddenly crumbled under me and I slid into a deep hole bringing sticks and rocks with me.

What happened? Where am I? I got up rubbing my head and I couldn't see much. I was in some sort of cave I think. The ground was rock and that's all I saw in the low light.
I pulled my phone out turning on the flashlight and solving the problem. Okay, step two, find out what kind of hole I fell into.
I walked deeper into the cave system and noticed some weird carving on a flat wall ahead. Huh. Weird.
I pulled my camera out snapping a picture before I walked over to it to get a closer look. It was an image. It depicted some horned creature battling some swordsman. This creature towered over the man. It looked like some kind of mythical battle. I ran my thumb over it brushing the dust off and it flashed when it touched my skin. I jumped back unaware of its capabilities.Did I just see that?
I slowly walked up again, poking it once more, and receiving another flash. I pressed my palm against it, the light from the image flowing between my fingers and illuminating the entire cave. Now this, is cool, I thought as the wall shrunk back and opened up to a massive chamber.
I took a single step inside and blacked out.
