"Yo," I hear bass blaring in my ears. "My best friend. Yeah, my best friend, best friend 'til the very end." The main track starts, and people start cheering. "Cause best friends, best friends don't have to pretend." The dancers behind me launch into an energetic dance routine.
"You need a hand, and I'm right there right beside you
You in the dark, I'll be the bright light to guide you
'member the times, times, times sneaking out the house
All of the times, times, times that you had the doubts
And don't forget all the trouble we got into
We got something you can't undo, do." Walking to the front of the stage, I raise the mic up to my mouth again and shout "PLEASE WELCOME... CHER LLOYD!" Cher walks along one of the catwalks, singing the next bit.
"Laughing so damn hard
Crashed your dad's new car
All the scars we share
I promise, I swear" We both start jumping around energetically, as we sing the chorus.
"Wherever you go, just always remember
That you got a home for now and forever
And if you get low, just call me whenever
This is my oath to youWherever you go, just always remember
You're never alone, we're birds of a featherAnd we'll never change, no matter the weather
This is my oath to you"
"I know I drive you crazy, mm, sometimes
I know I call you lazy, and that's most times
But you complete me, and that's no lie
You are my tuxedo, and I'm your bow tie
We in the car, sing, sing, singing our song
Rocking the building, tear it down, like we king kong
And in my eyes, you can't do, do no wrong
You got the best friends sing, sing along" Cher sings
"Laughing so damn hard
Crashed your dad's new car
All the scars we share
I promise, I swear" I sing, before we each walk down a catwalk.
"Wherever you go, just always remember
That you got a home for now and forever
And if you get low, just call me whenever
This is my oath to you
Wherever you go, just always remember
You're never alone, we're birds of a feather
And we'll never change, no matter the weather
This is my oath to you.I'll never let you go
Whoa, this is my oath to you
Just thought that you should know
Whoa, this is my oath to you"
"Yeah,"
"Wherever you go, just always remember
That you got a home for now and forever
And if you get low, just call me whenever
This is my oath to you
Wherever you go, just always remember
You're never alone, we're birds of a feather
And we'll never change, no matter the weather
This is my oath to you" We then start clapping above our heads, encouraging the audience to join in. "Oh oh
You should know, you should know, you should know, you should know
Yeah oh" We walk back onto the main stage area, and onto a platform that Little Mix were on only a short while earlier. As I start singing the final part, the platform slowly starts to rise up.
"Whoa, this is my oath to you
Whoa, wherever you go just always remember
You're never alone, we're birds of a feather
Whoa, this is my oath to you" I finish the song just as we disappear into the ceiling. Cher and I hug each other as we hear huge applause from the audience below.(You're wearing the top outfit) "(Y/N), you killed it up there!" Jesy exclaims as Cher and I make our way back to our tables. I sit at the same table as Little Mix, while Cher goes off to find her friends at a different table.
"I bet you'll win Best British Single for that!" Jade says enthusiastically, and Perrie, Leigh and Jesy nod in agreement."And, the award for 'British Artist Video' goes to..." I carry on talking to the girls. We all know that there isn't a chance in hell that either of us will beat One Direction in the only category voted for by the public. "(Y/N) (L/N) with Oath!" I stand bolt upright, surprised and knocking my chair over in the process. I carefully make my way to the stage through the sea of tables, walking up the stairs, and tripping over thin air when I get to the top. A ripple of laughter can be heard throughout as I stand up. I walk over to the podium, accept the award, and pick up the microphone
"Wow. I literally can't believe that I've just won a Brit. And it's literally been less than four months since I won the X-Factor. I wanna thank, first of all, my family. They've always been there for me. Second, I want to thank my oldest friends. They're the ones who encouraged me to go onto the X-Factor last year. Without them, I wouldn't be here tonight. Thirdly, I want to thank Simon Cowell, for being such an amazing mentor on the X-Factor. Fourth, I want to thank the girls of Little Mix. They've helped me throughout this surreal experience, hate, late-night studio sessions, music videos and so much more. And finally, I want to thank my fans. Without them, I'd be nowhere. I mean, I could've gone far on X-Factor, but I wouldn't have won. I wouldn't have carried on making music after the X-Factor. I wouldn't have won this award. I'd probably be sitting in a dingy apartment, watching the ceremony on TV. Thank you all so much." I put the microphone down, carefully make my way down the stairs, and back to the table."Congratulations, (Y/N)!" Perrie says, before all four of them stand up to hug me.
"Thanks guys. But seriously, I can't believe that I beat History and Hair. They're both amazing videos."And Best British Single goes to... Little Mix, Shout Out to My Ex!" All four girls stand up, hug each other, walk over the chair that Leigh-Anne's knocked over, and go to completely the wrong part of the stage. Upon realising that the stairs are on the other side of the stage, they walk through the tables, and up the stairs.
"I'm sorry, we're very drunk right now, but I don't give a shit. We won a Brit!" I say, giggling "I'm a poet and I didn't know it!"
Jesy's waving their trophy above her head, I'm holding mine like a microphone, pointing it at the camera people when I'm not speaking.
"I want to hold it! I haven't held it yet!" Leigh-Anne whines to Jesy, as Jade tries to bite it.
"Let's go!" Perrie yells "Thataway, noble steed!" as she jumps onto my back
"Run like the wind, Bullseye!" Jade says to Jesy before they fall over as Leigh tries to jump on as well.
As we get into a waiting car, Perrie tells the driver to take us to a well-known club. We're gonna be absolutely fucked tomorrow.
