Day 2 - The Date

It's almost time for our date, I better get going. As I was walking to the café I ran into my friend Emma. I stopped and started talking to her.

Amber's Point of View

"I can't believe I'm actually going to go on a date with August! He should be here any minute. I hope he doesn't think it's wierd that I got here two hours early. Nah I just won't tell him." I looked out the window and I saw August talking to another girl. Tears immediately filled my eyes.  "W-What is he doing" I don't know what I should do. "Ok it's been 14 seconds why is he still talking to her! That's it I'm going out there." After I exited the café I stood still. "Should I go over there or just wait here? Ugh I don't know.

August's Point of View

I waved and said goodbye to Emma. Outside the café I saw Amber standing there waiting for me. "Hey Amber, how long were waiting for me?"

"Oh I just got here myself." She said.

"So where would you like to go Amber?"

"Anywhere is fine as long as I'm with you"

"Hm, what was that?"

"N-Nothing!"

"Ok, well I heard the fair is in town. Shall we go?" I said as I held her hand.

"Yeah let's go!" She said with a bright smile on her face.

I took her on rides, played games, and to look at some animals. The whole time I was distracted by how amazing she is. My main goal is to make her have the best week ever, but I didn't think I would have as much fun as I am right now. And I didn't think I would end up falling in love with her so easily. But I was wrong.

"Hey Amber it's getting pretty dark"

"Aw ok I guess we can go now" she said sadly.

"I never said that we had to leave. Come with me I want to show you something."

"Ok"

I took her on the ferris wheel. And when we got to the top we saw all the beautiful fair lights turn on.

"It's so beautiful!!" She said excitedly.

"I'm glad you think so." I didn't care about the lights, I just cared about seeing her this happy. I wish I met her sooner. I wish I could spend the rest of my life with her, but sadly I can't. Because in just a few days she's going to die and there's nothing I can do about it. Tears began to fill my eyes.

Amber looked at me and said "Hey is everything alright?"

I immediately kissed her. "Yeah everything is perfect."

After that I took her to the beach so we could look at the stars. But then something else happened.

"Did you enjoy our date, Amber?"

"Yes I wish it never had to end."

"Yeah me too. Hey can I ask you something?"

"Ya anything."

I got down on one knee and asked her. "Amber will you marry me?"

"Y-Yes!!! Of course!!!" She immediately started crying tears of joy, and she could barely even talk.

"But August, I'm only 16."

"I know and I'm only 17, but I don't care let's do it anyway."

"When do you want to do it?" she asked.

"As soon as possible, but we're going to need at least a day to get everything ready"

"Thank you so much August." She wrapped her arms around me and started crying again."

"No, thank you for saying yes."
