AMELIA HAD reluctantly agreed to help Kevin with the Talent Show.

"I'm not doing it alone," Kevin said.

"But I hate people, why me?"

"Because I'm your best friend?"

Amelia laughed "i'm sorry I didn't realize you changed your name to Valerie Smith."

Kevin's mouth dropped dramatically "okay I'm going to ignore that. Please?"

Amelia sighed, "okay fine whatever."

Kevin dragged her off to the auditorium. There were a few people already in there she waved to Moose, who nodded at her.

She sat down at the wooden desk.

"Archie Andrews?" Kevin called Amelia immediately started clapping. Kevin shook his head at her and she stopped.

Archie stood on the stage with his guitar.

"And what will you be auditioning with?" Kevin asked.

Archie looked nervous his answer sounded force, "uh an original song that I wrote called "I'll Try.""

Amelia had already heard the song, Archie had sang it for her one night.

"Try harder!" Reggie yelled from the back.

"Maybe try not sucking so much!" Reggie said continuing his taunting.

"Hey Reggie? Shut up!" Amelia yelled angrily. She swore he was only a nice person in private.

Reggie stopped and rolled his eyes.

"Did you just roll your-"

"Amelia shut up," Kevin whispered to her and she turned back around.

"Take your time, Archie. Though we do have people waiting," Kevin said nodding at his friend.

Archie fumbled with his guitar and gulped. Amelia sighed looking at her brother.

"Archie come on," she whispered.

"Archie? Clock's ticking."

Archie shook his head "Excuse me. Sorry, I gotta go." Archie ran off the stage and out the auditorium. Amelia tried going after him but Kevin grabbed her arm.

"He'll be fine Ames relax," he said and she sat back down. Even though she knew he wouldn't.

Amelia watched as Josie, Melody, and Valerie played. She noticed Josie had been very on edge this week. Amelia tried her best to stay on Josie's good side.
