NORMAL WAS SUCH a dumb word to Amelia Andrews. What was normal? She had thought about it for a long time and she could not be able to determine what normal was.

Amelia walked outside the snow in her dark hair.

"Let's throw a party," Melody said next to her Amelia looked at her confused.

"Why?" Amelia asked

"Because the hell is over Ames we can all go back to normal."

"Normal... I don't think this town can ever be what it was Mel," Amelia said.

"True but we don't have to act all sad either lighten up," Melody said bumping her shoulder.

'Would if I could.'

Amelia watched Mayor McCoy enter the school.

"What is she doing here?"

"I don't know hurry up I'm late for band practice," Melody grabbed her arm and dragged her up the steps.

"Your mom scares me," Amelia said. Josie looked at her with an eye roll.

"All adults scare you," Josie said.

"Shut up no they don't your mom's the mayor she could destroy me if she wanted. It's a rational fear," Amelia said.

"Yeah she might pull a Mr. Blossom and kill you tied to a chair," Valerie said setting up her keyboard. They all looked at her.

"To soon?"

"Yes!" They all said.

"The Jubilee is stupid I don't get it also we should change the name it keeps making me think of the X-Man," Amelia handed Melody her drumsticks.

"I don't know it's for the town's like anniversary or something all I know is that we have to preform-"

"Because your mom is scary."

"No" Josie said.

"Guys I'm hungry," Amelia twisted in her chair and sat upside down.

"Lunch is in like an hour you'll live," Valerie said.

"We don't know that Melody give me a dollar I want to get something from the vending machine," Amelia said Melody handed her a dollar and she got up.

She walked over to the vending machine and got a bag of chocolate chip cookies. She sat back down her chair.

"Now," Amelia said "sing for me."

Amelia ate lunch alone in the offices of The Blue and Gold.

"You could eat with me you know it makes you look not pathetic," Reggie said entering the office.

"Yeah I would really love to eat with football players who are gonna make crude jokes and talk about my ass in front of me, I'll pass thanks," Amelia said.
