Long a go in a strange and magical wood in a little log cabin lived a girl called Sarah with her dad. She had a pet horse called Starlight, and a dog called Buddy. She would often talk to them when she felt lonely because she had no siblings to play with. Outside of the log cabin was a wood called the 'Dark wood'. She would often wonder what was in it.
"What's in the Dark wood?" She would say to her father often starting an argument,
"I have told you a million times I don't know." He answered
"So why can't I go in there?"
He usually said "because you might get lost."
Only this time he said "because there are bad things in there that could hurt you, and I don't what the same thing that happened to your mother to..."
"What?!"
"You've heard enough. Go to bed!" he said angrily, then went to get some coffee.
Reluctantly, Sarah went up to her room, looked out her window and muttered to her self "What's in there?"
After a while she got curious and then she decided she would go in the Dark wood at midnight when her farther was asleep.
