It is strange to go from being alone in the world with only a burly male brimming with testosterone to keep you company, to getting the company of three other seemingly normal people.

I particularly like the girl named Jill. Yes, she can read my mind and all, but I feel a sense of connection to her.

The other two boys - Thomas and Mathias - seem nice enough. They're quite attractive, and to be honest I feel an absurd sense of envy. Both are clearly enamoured with her, and I can see why. Jill is not gorgeous per se, but she exudes warmth and kindness, and she does have pretty features.

I'm envious. I want to laugh just thinking about it. It's good to keep myself amused once in awhile. It helps me feel sane in this crazy situation.

I'm sure she already knows all this, since she can read my mind and all. I can't read hers. In fact, it seems like she's the only one with psychic powers. The rest of us are normal folk stuck in an abnormal world.

I learn that the two boys had come into this city to look for her. Man. What I'd do to get out, and here they come barreling in with no clear exit.

It's too bad they didn't have a round-trip ticket with them.

I am worried about Max. I see jealousy burning in his eyes. He flinches when one of the boys comes too close. I have to keep at least a foot's distance from them for fear of Max lashing out. He isn't armed, but I know he has a weapon close.

It's a pity, because Thomas seems like a really nice guy.
