Fault

"And so,how did this happen?"

Denzel and Marlene looked at each other briefly only to turn away with a sound of anger.Currently,they sat next to each other,refusing to make eye contact with each other.Tifa had forced them to sit down and the fact that they usually listened to her made this easier.She had pulled them into the living room after hearing the shouts that echoed throughout the house.It happened unexpectedly for her.

It started out with softer argument which slowly evolved into shouting.

"It's all your fault!"

"Why are you blaming me? I had other things to do!"

Marlene's cheeks was puffed and red as she continued her side of the argument."We live in the same house! Couldn't you just told me you were busy! What's the point of promising when you don't keep it!?"

"I couldn't help it! It was an urgent matter!" Denzel's eyes was now focused on the ground,unable to deny her statements.

It was before Marlene could say something in reply that Tifa stopped it.Now,they were stuck at the scene at hand.Although they usually got along and was close with each other,seeing them fight was a rare moment.Tifa could only separate them to listen to each side of the story.After hearing both sides,she realised that no one was at fault.Only that Marlene was angry that Denzel didn't bother to tell her.

"Ok.Let's end this fight.If you two are not getting along it doesn't sit right with the both of you right?" Tifa's words reflecting their thoughts. "No one is at fault so let's end this with an apology from the both of you ok?"

Denzel faced Marlene,he didn't want this fight continue because of his mistake. "I'm sorry.Please forgive me?"

"I'm sorry too." she met Denzel's eye contact and gave a soft smile.

"Ok! Next time,Denzel make sure you tell Marlene your reasons." she faced Marlene now. "And make sure you listen to his side of the story no matter how frustrated you are.Because,it would be a shame if your friendship ended over this small matter,right?"

The both of them nodded at Tifa's words as they reconciled.Tifa smiled at their actions.
