Rubbing her eyes, she did her morning routine before walking down to the kitchen. Her footsteps light against the floor to prevent any loud noises. Grabbing the ingredients, she started to make breakfast. Slowly, as she prepared, her eyes shifted to the staircase, waiting for the familiar blonde to appear. Feeling slightly disappointed, she set the utensils in her hands on the counter before looking around the room. Her eyes searching for the usual note that displayed Cloud’s reasons for leaving. Despite her frantic searching, she could not find it and felt slightly worried mixed with sadness as she returned to cooking. Although Cloud would leave often, the days when he returned would often be spent together, filling in the time that was lost. With new memories and different timings. Yet, she still felt lonely when Cloud left, feeling a slight gaping hole that she always covered. Constantly hiding it, keeping it hidden in her own heart. However, when Cloud left without notice, she had nothing to look forward to, knowing that she did not know when he returned. Particularly when Cloud returned a day before, as he spent most of his time in the room, catching up on his sleep after talking to Tifa. Sighing, she cleared her mind and placed the food on the table. Looking at the staircase, she waited for the familiar children to head down the stairs. Her lips turned into a smile, staring at the figure that headed down the stairs. The figure tall and filled with muscles as his face presented his lack of sleep. She walked over to him, enveloping him in a bone crushing hug. Despite him not answering his phone, he always informed her of his plans. A wave of happiness rushed through her, followed by slight disappointment as she did not trust Cloud. This making her regain her trust, and also the strength in the bone crushing hug.

“Tifa? Is there something wrong?” she faced him, staring into his blue orbs. Flashing a smile, she replied, “Nope.”

Releasing him from the hug, she walked back to the table and took a sit on the chair. Cloud rubber his arms slightly, recalling Tifa’s strength in martial arts and lean muscles. He sat beside her, the corner of his lips tugging into a smile as he watched her. The two children came down, starting their everyday life. Tifa could not hide the smile that appeared as she stared at everyone seated at the dining table.

“I wish things were like this more often…” she mumbled to herself, loving the company.
