He misses him, but he knows it was for the best. He knows that them being apart will prevent the destruction of their happiness. Love is tricky, and in this situation, love ended up being blind. He just always ended up hurting him, then apologize, and then repeat. He abused the one he loved the most and one day he really hurt him, it made him realize he was a horrible person, and he left. When his ex-lover woke up by himself in the hospital alone he found out that he had left. His ex-lover was so angry because he had stayed through the abuse, but he was the one who left him. His ex-lover was sort of relieved at the same time because he didn't have to go through abuse anymore. They never saw each other again.
