FWFC 1st Anniversary Contest - Judges

ChantalCruz30 is a founding member and admin of FWFC and the editor of the club's FAQ book. She was a finalist during the Wattpad Writing Battle of the Year 2015 and her Historical Fantasy work, "Dawn of the Golden Age," garnered First Place during Round Three. Her other Wattpad works are "Draken Song" (#370 in Fantasy), "Amari" (#152 in Fantasy), and "Eternal Moon" (#298 in Werewolf). Chant the Cactus' hobbies other than writing include sketching and reading. Her favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi and action.

Here's her message to this contest's participants: "Let your writing speak for you. I want to hear an authentic writing voice. Catch my attention with your first sentence. Sustain that momentum layer by layer, with a prose that would take me to a different world, place and time. Show me beauty in form and substance. Technique without heart is cold; all heart with no technique is crude."

lunatrix was a finalist during the Wattpad Writing Battle of the Year 2015 as well and won Second Place for PNY Novellete for her collaborative work with other Filipino writers. She has several works published on Wattpad, including poems and short stories among others, and has contributed to a self-published anthology entitled "Beyond Fate and the Stars" (2016) and its upcoming second book, "Beyond Light and Darkness." Trix loves reading, eating, sleeping and watching theater plays and musicals. Her favorite genre is fantasy, although she'll read anything regardless of genre as long as she considers it good fiction.

Here's her message: "Let your imagination flow. Take us inside your story. Deliver your story in a way that will compel the reader to think that the way you narrated and executed your story is the best way to convey it."

libranages, a founding member and admin of FWFC, has consistently been hailed as the "Most Helpful Reviewer of the Week" in the club's review cycles. He was also a winner in Kathbute's search for entries for the anthology "Beyond Light and Darkness." His Wattpad works include the ongoing fantasy novel "Thera: The Alternate World" and the "Dissecting Fairy Tales" series in which he applies the lessons from well-loved fairy tales to the modern setting, often resulting in dark, unexpected twists. A licensed chemist and college teacher, libranages enjoys caring for carnivorous plants and playing video games.

What he looks for in a story: "Gusto ko 'yung stories na tumatagos sa damdamin tapos natural 'yung dialogue at reactions ng characters.I think writing is not just about using all the words in the thesaurus, it's more of creating a connection with the reader and immersing the reader in the world that you created."

FrozenHart has become a household name in Wattpad's local writing contest community, having been a semi-finalist in both Incognito: Battle of the Unknown (2015) and Literary Outbreak (Season 2), a quarter-finalist in Wattpad's Writing Battle of the Year (2016) and a judge in numerous writing competitions. His completed novel "Hellio: Sa Mundo ng mga Mortal" showcases his prowess in the genres of fantasy, action and adventure. He is currently employed in the BPO industry and is a resident writer for the group Lapis Sa Kalye (LSK).

His message to all writers, "newbies" and "veterans" alike: "Hindi lahat ng baguhan ay mahina at hindi lahat ng beterano, batikan. May mga rounds, genres, themes, categories o elements na hindi para sa atin, dahilan kung bakit kahit anong talento ang ating taglay, hindi naiiwasang may makalamang. Wala namang ranggo sa pagsusulat. Pantay-pantay ang lahat dahil may kani-kaniya tayong taglay na galing."
