Aaron's POV

Nothing changed.

She was still limp.

Grey.

Motionless.

I could see the look on the doctor's faces.

Beep 

Beep 

Beeeeeeeeeeeeep

The machine flat lined.

"Please...Aph...no..."

I saw those memories.

Aaron! Stop it!

No! Come back here!

NUUU! I hate being tickled!

Well then.......*wraps his arms around her and throws them both on the couch, tickling her*

I also saw visions. 

I saw me holding a baby, in a delivery room.

I saw me dropping off our kid at school.

I saw us growing old.

I saw Aphmau, and her warm smile.

Warm.

She is now cold.

Dr. Shepard started doing CPR.

Pumping her small chest.

Come Aph.....

All the other doctors started to pull back. 

Eventually Dr. Shepard wore a grim face. 

He pulled his hands away.

The endless tone rang through the room.

"No....no.......keep trying....KEEP TRYING" I yelled. 

The doctors all looked down, trying not to make eye contact with me.

"No..." I whispered.

"Aph...." I ran over to her side.

She was so pale.

So lifeless.

So young.

"Try again" I told him harshly. 

Dr. Shepard looked at me, guilt in his face.

"She is 16...she risked her life, almost dying for a puppy she never knew..."

I continue, still sobbing between words.

"....She was pregnant....then lost our baby..."

"...And the best thing she ever did....she stuck with me....even when I didn't stick with her..."

I look from her to him, a mixer of sadness and anger in my expression.

"Now......I'm going to need you to bring her back...because I promised her....now and forever...."

"I have no intention on breaking it"

Dr. Shepard hesitated, biting his lip.

I looked back down on Aphmau.

Though she was grey and lifeless, she looked peaceful.

She looked free.

I reached up my shaking hand to her cold cheek, my fingertips rejecting her frigget skin. 

"Give Zoey a hug for me....okay?" I manage out.

Everything was silent, except for the ringing in the room.

Aphmau hated the awkward silence..

"Screw it." Dr Shepard picks up the paddles again. 

I step back, astonished he listened. 

He continued to make her lurch.

She flopped up and down from the shocks.

I couldn't do anything.

To see her like this.

My heart attacks my body, stinging every inch of it.

But the pain stops, at one sound.

I look to see the heart monitor return to normal.

I breathe.

I let out a big sigh.

"We need to get her to surgery! Get an O.R. ready"

The entire coding team wheel her hospital bed out of the room.

I trail behind.

She is alive?

Oh thank Irene.

They go through two large doors, but it is restricted. 

I just stand there watching them wheel her into the operating room.

She is alive.

Warm.

But also free.

Dr Shepard comes out of surgery, and comes over to me and sits down.

"We got all the tumor out, now we just have to see how she responds..." I nod. 

"She might not wake up?" I ask, my voice hoarse.

"With brain surgery, anything can go wrong..you can see her if you like.."

"Thank you." I get up, and I shuffle behind Dr. Shepard.

We enter the hospital room again.

I walk slowly to her bedside and sit on the chair. 

I grasp her hand, it was warm.

Thank Irene it was warm.

But was it active?

I drop my head, trying to wrap my head around everything.

"You know, you are scary when you're mad..." I hear a very familiar voice say.

I look up, my broken heart reassembling itself.

"You....you..." I try to speak but can't.

I couldn't help myself, I stand up and place my lips on hers.

Her lips were warm, like the rest of her body.

She was here.

Now,

and forever.
