"AAAH!" I shot up in my bed.

Drops of sweat dripping down my forehead and cheeks. I massage my temple with my fingertips .

What a terrible nightmare.

Or so I thought.

I turn in the bed, expecting to see a sleeping giant oaf besides me that snores every other night.

But he wasn't there.

The panic from dream spirals, blood rushing in my ears

I inhale through my nose, expecting the smell of breakfast, but no such smell seems to exist.

I reach for my phone, scrolling through the contacts, one specifically catching my attention.

All our calls, our texts, our history of spending time together, had been erased.

I run over to Lilth, scared, oh so very scared.

I double over as I see that she's okay, but when I look back, my heart kicks back into overdrive. Because next to her sleeping form, is a piece of paper with writing on it.

I begin to dart my eyes up down the page, opening my mouth to sob, taking in sharp hard breathes.
