Aphmau's POV

A crisp wind whips through my hair with icy fingers. Feeling fidgety, I check my phone again.

Gene said to meet behind the laundromat. Doesn't he have a washing machine?

Why here—

My thoughts were abruptly cut off by a rag covering my face.

Chemicals flood my nostrils and the darkness consumes me.

I open my eyes groggily, struggling against my bounded wrists as I regained consciousness.

I was tied to a chair, in a barren room, just a rustic wooden table off to the side.

On no....Scaren.

I hear the door creak open.

I expect a man in black.

But I see...

Gene?

He just waltzes over to me, a smile tugging at his cheeks. He caressed my own with his fingertips.

Even his touch felt cold.

I was so confused.

"Gene?" I ask, fear building up in my voice.

"Oh, I'm so sorry dear, didn't mean to tie you up...here."

Dear?

He walks behind me, cutting my hands free.

I rub my wrists, soothing the inflamed skin.

"Okay Aphmau. You know and you have known for a while, haven't you?" He asks, squatting down to meet my eyes.

"What...wha..." I stutter out.

"You and I are meant to be, we have so much fun together and I love you" Gene said, a smile engraving itself on his face.

I can't speak.

Gene..

"Though, there is Aaron...So I know that you think you love him, but you don't. So, here is the deal" He continues.

"Leave him and the kids, divorce him, and run away with me...."

"Or......Aaron dies..."

I start to hyperventilate

My breaths becoming sharper

He puts a finger to my lips, shushing me.

"Trust me, I'm doing you a favor..." He starts, but I interrupt him

"Never....I will never be with you..."

I know what might happen to Aaron,

But he would never want me to be with Gene in order to keep him safe.

"Aaron is the one I love Gene....not you.." I manage out, my voice strong.

My opinion, true

Gene grunts, then looks at me.

The door opens, Aaron pops in.

Gene reaches into his jacket, fishing out something that made my heart stop.

It was a handgun.

He pointed it at Aaron.

Aaron stopped in his tracks, looking from me to Gene.

"What..did you do to her?" He questions, not a single letter without hostility.

Gene chuckles, a smile growing back on his face.

"Nothing, she was just telling me how much she loved me..." Gene started, but was interrupted by Aaron throwing a punch to his face.

Gene falls on the ground, the gun scattering across the floor.

I sat still, trying to take in everything that was going on.

Gene gets up quickly, licking blood from his lips.

Aaron tries to throw another punch, but Gene counterattacks by dodging then throwing a punch at Aaron's cheek.

Aaron barely flinches, then delivers a blow to Gene's gut.

Gene flies across the room, his body hitting the wall. He collapses on the floor.

Aaron comes over to me, his expression now concerned.

"Aph....are you okay? What did he do?" He asks me.

I open my mouth to speak, but no words come out.

What made words come out of my mouth, was the sound of a gunshot.

I screamed, as Aaron fell to the ground.

I look over at Gene, who must've after shooting, passed out.

I leaped out of the chair, sitting by Aaron's side.

He was turning pale.

"Aaron...Aaron.." I speak softly, my heart disintegrating.

"Always remember..*cough*..to tuck Lilth in with the elephant...*cough*.." He slightly moans.

"No, Aaron you hear me? You aren't dying okay?!" I shout, tears gathering in my eyelids.

"......remember Alina...needs the pink pacifier...not the blue..."

"Aaron....no.."

"Tell them every night.....*cough cough*....that I love them, and I will always be there..."

His body goes limp

His pulse drops.

"NO AARON! NOO DONT LEAVE ME!" I scream, tears coating my cheeks.

"AARON!"

Blood stains my clothes.

Tears stain my cheeks

Pain stains my voice

"AARON!"
