Edd twiddled is their thumbs, they've been nervous all day. Tomorrow was there was a family reunion, and they didn't want to be rude and just straight up discard their mother's invitation. Tom was worried about Edd, he's never seen them this nervous before.

Tom walked up to his lover, "Edd what's wrong?" He asked concerned. They gulped and looked up at him, "I-I, kind of, h-have to go to a family reunion tomorrow. I-I'm just nervous is all." Tom didn't by it, but respected them, "How bout' I tag along?" They beam, "Please do!" Tom chuckled and ruffled their hair, "Guess that's settled."

Today was the day, the day of their family reunion. Edd gulped as they pulled into the drive way, usually Tom would drive, but he didn't know the way to Edd's mother's home. Tom looked at Edd, they had a tight grip on the steering wheel. He sighed, "Hey, it's going to be okay." Tom smiled at them, "Trust me." They look at him with a worried look, "O-okay."

Tom stepped out of the car, Edd did as well. They were still on edge, he could clearly tell. Tom intertwined his hand with Edd's, he squeezed it hoping that it gave them a little encouragement. It did. They smile at him and word a "thank you" and kissed his cheek.

They knock on the door, they seemed a little hesitant. Someone opened the door, "There she is!" It was Edd's mother. Their face twisted with distraught, they felt their heart drop. Their mom brought them into a hug, "I've missed my little girl!" Edd felt like they were about to breakdown into tears, they've told their family about this yet they still refuse to believe it.

"Who's this handsome man?" She asked. Edd rubbed their arm and looked away, "He's my boyfriend, Tom." They mumbled. Their mother beamed, "It's nice to meet you! I'm sure you treat my daughter well!" Tom looked at Edd, his gaze soft and worried for them. Edd's mother smiled, "Come in, come in!"

Tom watched Edd follow their mother, their shoulders were slumped and their head was down. Tom didn't take a liking to their family, they should know about this. They should respect them!

Tom squeezed their hand as they walked, "You know, you'd look better in a dress Ell." She comments. Tom balled his free hand into a fist, his eye twitched. Edd sighed, "W-we already talked about this m-mom." They mumbled.

The living room was packed full of children and other relatives, "Ell, it's so great to see you!" They wince at the name, forcing a smile onto their face, "Mhm." They went to sit on the couch, they sit with their fists on their legs. They did this whenever they were about to breakdown sobbing, Tom rushed to them. He kneeled down and held Edd's hands, "Edd, come here." He embraced them, they were shaking as they quietly sobbing into his shoulder.

"W-why can't they just accept me?" They whispered between hiccups. Tom sighed and rubbed circles on Edd's back, "You want to talk in the bathroom?" He asked. He smiled softly when he gets a small nod.

He grabbed Edd's hand, he luckily found the bathroom first try. He shut the door and locked it, they broke down crying. They looked up at Tom, their lips quivered, "Why can't I just be what I want Tom? A-am I not allowed to? D-do I–" Tom hushed Edd by kissing them. They melt into the kiss and wrapped their arm arounds Tom's neck.

Edd felt Tom cup his face, their tears were wiped away by his thumbs. Tom stared them dead in the eyes, "Listen here Edd." He mutters lowly as he held a straight face. He rubbed his forehead against Edd's, "You are a handsome young man no matter what anyone tells you. Capisce?" They giggled and nodded, "When we get home I'm going to make sure that you understand what I said better." He purred.

Their face flushed, "T-Tom!" They pat his face and puffed out their cheeks. Tom chuckled at their reaction. They smile at Tom, "Thank you so much, I love you." Tom kissed their nose, "I love you too, now let's show your family who's the real man of the house shall we?"
