Dipper's P.O.V

Strangely me and Mabel didn't talk about anything as we got ready for bed, maybe because I was with them today. As I turned off the light, I bid Mabel a good night and crawled into bed. As I was about to close my eyes, I heard my phone buzz. My first reaction was excitement, thinking that it may have been a text from Bill. But honestly, it's much more likely to be an update.

It was Bill.

Hey, where were you today?

Was I supposed to meet him or something? I racked my mind as I tried to remember if we had made any plans. Nope nothing...

D: I was just hanging out with Mabel and Pacifica. Was there some sort of plan I forgot, or...

B: No plan. You just weren't where you usually are. I thought you were maybe sick or something, figured I'd check up on you.

D: No I'm healthy, though I appreciate the concern.

B: Oh good.

I guess this was my cue to start a conversation, though I'm not good at that sort of thing.

D: So how was your day?

B: It was a day. You know, eating, breathing

Well that topic sucked.

B: Were you trying to start conversation, or do you genuinely want to hear a bed-to-bed story about my day?

Would that be weird if I actually did want to hear a bed-to-bed story..?

D: I was just asking how your day was in general.

B: It was fine.

B: So how was yours?

Hmm how was my day? Well I nearly died of boredom.

D: It was good. I watched a Rom-Com with the girls.

B: You like Rom-Coms...? That's hilarious.

D: Ew no, they suck. I just like watching my sister react to them.

B: I personally love Rom-Coms, once in a while. Though reactions are the best for the most part. Like yours during that one show we watched. Killed me.

D: Oh that was the worst.

B: That was hilarious. You're such a nerd.

D: Am I a nerd for expecting quality?

B: Yes

B: I still don't get why you care so much about it.

D: The show? I already told you, I like the book series; it's my favorite.

D: It's just like how you have a favorite.

B: I actually don't have a favorite. I don't read.

D: Don't you have a favorite movie though, or T.V series?

B: Nope. No top favorite, and I definitely don't invest myself into the stories.

D: You don't have to invest in it to enjoy it.

B: I do enjoy fiction, just not too much. It's hard to enjoy something that isn't real. It's like finding joy in dreams. Ideas, crazy scenarios that wouldn't really happen.

D: What about realistic fiction?

B: Ha, an oxymoron right there. How can it be realistic and fiction? Even so, it still doesn't fit the criteria for 'realistic'; the events are way to convenient to be convincing. That is what the writer is trying to do right? Be convincing?

D: You do love movies, right?

B: Well of course, though it's more the art of telling a story.

D: Well, I personally 'invest' because it's nice to step away from the real for a moment.

B: and that helps?

D: For the most part. Life pretty much sucks.

I really hate to say it, but yeah. Reading is kind of a coward route, at least for me anyways. I know there's people who just read for entertainment, but I read so that I don't have to deal with life.

B: I'm sorry to hear that. May I ask what makes it suck?

Uh.....

D: Well just the fact that, we're living it, am I right?

B: Hahahahaha, definitely.

None of us said anything for a while.

B: Well, unfortunately, I must sleep now. Night Pinetree.

That name still struck me as odd. It was just so unusual.

D: Night Bill

A/N: 3 chapters in one sitting. let's see anyone beat that. They may have been lack luster, but I think they were necessary to the way I want the story to go. I hope you guys enjoy them. Bye.

Updated A/N: It's obvious that I did those 3 chapters in one sitting, cause they kind of sucked, especially this one. I went through and fixed them now.

Updated A/N: They still suck. What even?
