Nicki POV
I've been laying on Ciara's roof for a few hours just staring at the night sky and thinking of what I can do to make her at least be in the same room as me. As I'm in the middle of thinking, Chris and Bey land next to me.
"I'm never making new friends again, this shit hurts" He mumbles
Bey nods her head in agreement and I play with my nails.
"What can we do?" I ask
"The witches" Bey smiles
"They can make some potion or do some spell for us" Chris says
We make our way to the 2 witches we know, we're stopped by a vampire who looks like it's ready to attack.
"You told Onika, with the help of your friends and we warned all of you plenty of times" He hisses
"I don't care Luke, what are you gonna do? Tell the counsel?" I ask
"I sure am and you'll all regret this" He says
He takes off and I share a look with Chris, he takes off heading back to watch over Ci. We continue to our destination and get there in no time. I immediately spot the 2 witches and walk up to them.
"Abel, Tinashe" I smile
Me and Bey explain everything to them and they agree to help. Even though it's the middle of the night, this needs to be done now. Bey calls the others and I make my way to Ci's house and everybody else goes to my house. I meet Chris in the backyard and tell him what's happening. He nods his head and waits for me while I climb in her window. Knowing that she won't willingly come with me, I leave her asleep and just carry her. We run to my house and by the time we get in my room, she's waking up. Her eyes go wide when she sees us and I cut her off before she can even start.
"Listen to me, the counsel know and we don't have much time before they come, it can be any time between now and next week but I need you to believe us so we can do what we have to do, those two are witches and they're gonna help us show you the truth ok?" I ask
She nods her head and I turn towards Abel and give him the signal. Him and Tinashe perform a spell on a big bowl of water then bring it over to us.
"We just put a truth spell on the bowl, if any lie is detected even if unspoken, the water will automatically turn black otherwise it will remain gold, the vampires have to put a hand in the bowl and we'll start" Tinashe says
We all sit in a circle and put a hand in the bowl. They start asking questions and the whole time they do so, the bowl remains gold. Once we're done the sun is rising and I lock eyes with Ci, she starts tearing up and I walk over to her. I give everybody a look and they exit the room. I sit next to her on the bed and wrap my arms around her torso, she wraps hers around my neck and I pull her in closer.
"I'm scared Nika" She cries
"I know" I say while rubbing her back
"I am too" I admit
"I'm scared that I won't be able to protect you but I promise I'll do whatever it takes and protect you with everything in me, I don't have a heartbeat but the closest thing to it beating is because of you, and if I die in the process of all this, I'll be fine knowing that I gave my all for you" I mumble against her neck
She cries harder and I pull back, wiping her tears.
"I meant it when I said you'll forever be the key to my heart" I say while looking in her eyes
She nods her head and lays her head on my shoulder.
"I love you, more than imaginable" I smile while looking down at her
"I love you too babe" She says while interlocking our fingers
She smiles back at me and I lean down and give her a long overdue kiss.
