and it seemed like our hearts are similar to houses, confined
and i've been strong and warm and independent inside
secured, unharmed, protected by these four walls
happy, yes happy, yet alone in my own world
a knock was heard so i unlocked the door
and there stood the magnificence of another
he walked in and made me feel alive
but eventually left, i didn't know how i survived
season and season had passed,
i never saw how time ran so fast,
i remained the door unlocked,
but you coming back? there was never such luck
and the breeze entered the center of my home
i then felt the need to be cold and alone
i closed the door with two locks now
but i wished for him to come back, somehow
and he did, he did!
and i let him enter once again...
he came back and left, just like before
and the only things i gained from that
were more locks for my door.
