she sleeps when she close her eyes

part thirteen

The streets are busy and it's been two weeks since Kate was in the hospital. She sat on the bed holding her belly that was a bit bigger now. Her bags was packed and placed next to her.

The door swang open and Richard came in. He walk playfully up to Kate and stood between her knees and gave her a hug.

"Hallo." She giggled as they let go.

"Hallo." He greeted back with a happy smile. He put his ear against her belly and whispered. "Hey there. Daddy is here and I'm taking you and mommy home."he place a kiss on her stomach.

They arrived at Richard's house and climbed out carrying her bags into the house.

"Kate!" Nicole shout excited. She run down the stairs and gave Kate a big hug.

"Where's Katy?" Kate asked looking around expecting a little happy girl running around screaming happily.

"Oh she's upstairs in her room playing with Bella. She doesn't know you're here and we wanted to surprise her." Nicole smiled.

"Okay. Thanks." Kate smiled at them and put her suitcases down. She tiptoed on the stairs and silently opened the bedroom door.

"I wonder if mommy's gonna be okay. Daddy said she's really sick and when Nicole and daddy had a fight she mention mommy is going to die. I wish that I can hold her tight." Katy stood with her back against the door. Kate gave a proud smile and sneak up on her starting to tickle her.

Katy laugh and turn around seeing Kate. She gave a gasp and threw her arms around her mother.

"Wow, take it easy princess." Kate giggled sitting on her knees holding Katy.

"Mommy, does it hurt?" Katie asked looking at her mother touching her mother's hair.

"No sweetie it doesn't hurt." Kate said with tears in her eyes. "I missed you so much." She kiss her daughter's hair.

They sat and watched television and Katy fell asleep with her head on Kate's shoulder and her hand on her mother's pregnant belly.

Kate look at Richard that looked at her.
"Is she asleep?" Kate mouthed at him.

He nod and smiled. Kate and Richard both look at Nicole that was also asleep on the couch.

Kate pick Katie up in her arms and stood up. Richard stood up also start carrying Nicole to bed.

Kate lay Katie down and put the blankets over her and give her a kiss on the head. Richard came in and also kissed Katie goodnight on the head where Kate kissed.

Kate and Richard look at each other and walk out of her room. They went back to the living room and sat on apart sofas. Richard look at her and moved in next to her.

"I'm so glad you're home." He smiled putting his hand on her belly.

"I'm also glad." Kate smiled looking down then back up at him with tears in her eyes. "Richard, if I don't survive this thing promise me not to give up on Katy and the possible baby."

"Kate... you're not gonna die..." Richard place his other hand on her cheek.

"Richard." Richard got quite and look at her. "Promise me."

"I promise." He said looking deep into her eyes.

"Thank you." She said. She let her head drop on his chest. It turned into a hug.
Kate's arms was wrapped around his neck and his around her waist. He move his face to her neck and breath in her perfume. He use his hands to throw her legs over him. She move her face out of his neck and looked into his eyes.

"You're beautiful." He whispered running his finger over her lips. She gave a smile and close her eyes resting her head against the sofa and almost fell back but Richard grabbed her around the waist.

"Kate?" He checked if she was awake. He look at her and see a tear rolling down her closed eyes. He kiss her head and whispered,"you'll survive this. You always survived everything." He said and put her head on his chest.

Okay so spfor somemof you that didn't notice or anything...I don't know if I mention this but this thing she's living with makes her fall asleep immediately when she close her eyes. It's like her brain switches of to a deep sleep. Like when we sleep, we take a while to sleel but her brain get the message the moment her eyes close.
