part eighteen

Richard sat outside the room crying.

"What's going on?" Nicole asked as she came running to Richard with Katy.

He look at Nicole and went on his knees infront of Katy.

"Katy..." he took her hands.

"Where's mommy?" She asked.

"She's not here sweetie." He replied. Katy starts crying. She grab her dad into a hug.

Nicole starts crying too. She sat on the chair curled up.

Christina came there seeing this.

"What happened?" She asked. Richard stood up and let Katy sit with Nicole still crying.

"Well uhmmm. Kate had to get a c-section." Richard starts crying.

"Is she alright?" She asked.

"The alarms went off and she wasn't even blinking a eye. She just laid there unable to move. Her last words was that she loves me. It's like she knew this would have happen." He cried.

Christina starts crying and hugged Richard.
Memories starts playing in his head. Like how he met her in the park asking this beautiful women a pen and that was love at first sighed. Times where she and he fight, held each other, laughing, crying, making love and everything.

After a while they had their seats outside the room. A female doctor came out with a little smile.

"It's a boy." She smiled. "He looks just like you."

Richard gave a little smile then it slowly faded away thinking how much he misses Kate. He rub his hand over his face as Kate's doctor came out and look at Richard. He stood up waiting for the doctor to say something.

"Richard..." the doctor look down with tears in his eyes. He look back at Richard with a little smile. "There's someone I'd like you to meet or lets say."

Richard nod and stood up. He follow the doctor to the baby's room. There he layed. The beautiful little baby crying.

"Hey there." He pick the baby up and shhht him to quietness.

"Now mister Bennet, I am really sorry about what happened in there with that whole situation. But somehow I know that Kate is save now. This whole disease is over. You have no worries anymore." The doctor said.

Richard let a tear role down his eye and nod taking deep breaths starting to cry.

"She was right. The baby does look like me." He cried. "Hey Ronnie." He tried to smile. He put the baby down again and look at the doctor. The doctor gave him a confused look.

"I need to go." Richard walk out and saw her parents crying in each other's arms. He look down and turn around when the doctor touched his shoulder.

"Miracles happens doesn't it?" He asked.

"Yes doctor it does." Richard look down then up at him again.

"Now, I have to ask, you haven't seen Kate, why?" He asked. Richard turn around confused looking at his confused facial expression. "She recovered Richard. Didn't anyone tell you?"

"No, no one told me." Richard replied still confused.

"Odd. Anyway she's in her hospital room." The doctor replied. Richard wipe his tears of and turn around and run into her hospital room leaving everyone confused.

She was laying back with her face up upon her neck staring out the window. She look at him and gasped.

"Richard? Where have you been? I just woke up." She asked.

Richard gave a smile with alot of tears and run up to her giving her a hug.

"Ouch!" He look at her and apologized immediately. Her parents and everyone came in half confused to see Kate awake.

"Sweetie, I thought you were dead. We all thought you were dead." He cried playing his hands on her cheeks drying up her tears.

"Well atleast I'm not but I did see a white light. And this person with wings came to me and said it's not my time yet." She started to cry again. "I saw Kathy."

He hugged her as she was having a break down. He kissed her hair and ignore the wondering faces around him.

"I'm sorry we lost her honey. But atleast we have Katie and Ronnie." He comfort her.

AFTER A WHILE

Richard walk in to Kate and smiled seeing her with the baby in her arms. He took a seat next to her and smiled hopelessly inlove with her.

"Isn't he beautiful?" She giggled.

"He most certainly is." Richard agreed. He place his hand on her leg and look into her eyes. "Do you, maybe wanna talk about Kathy since we've never talked about her?"

"That would be very nice." Kate smiled.

"How old do you think she would've been by now?" He asked.

"About...five years old." Kate smiled.

"Kate, I never ever blamed you for the death of Kathy, i think that her death may have been the reason I changed and...cheated on you." He said.

She look at him as her smile slowly faded away.

"Richard, we always talked about the future. I lost Kathy on seven month knowing it's a girl and since Katy was three years old we both knew she would've forget, what if it was Kathy she saw the whole time and not Bella. Kathy must've pretended to be this Bella imaginary friend so that Katy wouldn't mention her name in front of us." Kate said.

Richard look down then back up at Kate and nod with tears in his eyes.

"When I saw Kathy she gave me the prettiest smile and said hello mommy." Kate cried.

Richard gave her a hug and look down at the baby seeing in what a deep sleep he was. He look back up at her and start crying as he pulled away.

"Kate I'm sorry I wasn't there when you had the miscarriage. I'm so sorry for everything, my broken vows, my anger, my dishonesty and the jerk I've become." He cried putting his head on her lap.

"Hey, it's alright. It's never too late to forgive." She comfort him placing the baby in the cot next to her and sitting up straight putting his face in her hands.

"I love you Kate. I was so afraid that I'll never be able to say it again so now I'm saying it again. I love you Kate." He cried putting his arms around her waist.

"Oh." She wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him looking back at him. "I love you too Richard Bennet, I love you and I'll say that everyday of my life." She said continuing to kiss him.

He look at her again and touch her face.

"You still didn't answer my question. Why you never moved on after our separation." Richard gave her a wanted look.

"There's millions of guys out there, but non of them are you." She replied. He smile spread across his face as he kiss her agains.

Katy came running in happy to see them. Kate took the baby as Richard pick Katy up and put her on the bed.

Katy giggled as she touched to baby's hand.

Life gives us second chances, so grab it, embrace it and don't waste it...
