Kate sat on the couch looking through a magazine. She stood up when she heard the front door. She walk to the kitchen slowly and saw a stranger.

"Who are you?" She asked scared.

"Oh I'm here for..." he started.

Kate look him up and down and started yelling. "No! I'm not going anywhere!"

"Mam..." the man started.

"Where's Richard?" She asked and look around. Someone touch her shoulder, that moment she screamed and fell to the ground crying.

"Kate it's me." Richard said trying to calm her down but she was quiet like the dead.

"Kate? Darling?" He asked trying to wake her.

"I'm sorry Ken, come by tomorrow again." He said looking down at the sleeping beauty in his arms.

"I'm really sorry." The man said and walk out.

Richard move the hair out of Kate's sleeping face and kissed her forehead. He got an add facial expression when she gasped waking up like after struggling to get air.

"Kate." He said. She cough and the swet started running down her face again.

He picked her up like a baby, grabbed his car keys and ran out to his car.

She lay in bed in a deep sleep connected to machines. Richard sat infront of her bed looking at Kate.

The doctor came in and Richard stood up.

"She's not doing any progress anymore. I don't want her to suffer." Richard cried. "She sleeps when she closes her eyes, she never even enjoyed any moment of the pregnancy! She think she's dying!"

"Relax. I may have great news but bad also." The doctor said. "I think we found a cure for her disease. But if it doesn't work...there's no hope for her or the baby."

"No, leave the cure I'm not loosing my baby again. I don't care about the cure I just want them again." Richard said looking at Kate then back at the doctor.

"Richard, I know you don't like seeing her like this. We've been wondering if it is the pregnancy that's making her so sick since she lost..." the doctor start.

"You're not thinking about giving her a abortion are you?" Richard interrupted.

"No. Of course not." He replied.

Kate woke up and gave a moan. Richard run to her. "Oh thank goodness you're awake." Richard said giving her a hug and kissed her on the lips. She look at him in pain and look at the doctor.

"Am I... am I dead?" She asked panicking.

"No sweetie, you're in the hospital." Richard replied with tears in his eyes. She gave him a weak look as her eyes are dying to close but she wouldn't let them.

"Richard...I...love..." her eyes shut and she was back to sleep. He lay her back and look at the doctor.

Richard walk into Christina's office and took a seat on a little black couch. Christina came in and took a seat infront of him.

"How can I help you?" She asked sitting forward.

"Well, it's about Kate. To me it feels like she's there but she's dead." He look down at his hands. "It kills me to see her in such a condition. She never even had a happy moment during the pregnancy. She's not with me anymore, I know that when she close her eyes and go to sleep she goes somewhere else and the worst is that she's going without me and Katy. I hear her voice every night in my head. I see her in every women I look at. I'm in love with her Christina."he cried.

"Richard. We all know what's going to happen. Best thing is you tell her before she...you know." Christina cut her sentences and break in tears.

"I miss her so much. There's no other girl like her and I really wish I had enough time to fix everything but i don't have enough time. She's dying and she knows it too. What am I, as father of a eight year old say to his girl about her mother. She bassicaly lives from machines and sleep more then anything else. I just wish this happened to me and not to her." He cried rubning his eyes with his hands.

"Richard, you have to be positive as more as possible. Do this for the sake of your daughter and Kate." Christina said.

Richard came at the hospital and saw Kate's doctor. He gave him a big smile and came to him.

"She's awake." The doctor said. Richard gave a surprising smile then ran into the room passing other patients and seeing her sitting on her bed staring to her left. She look at him and smile.

"Kate." Richard walk to her and sat down taking her hand.

"Richard. I'm so sorry." She apologized.

"Don't apologize. Your health comes first." Richard said as she gave him a nice warm hug.

Kate look down then back at him with a smile. "Well atleast I can go home. Doctor said that I should just take things slowly and when something happens like this morning you should just put me in bed and I'll eventually wake up." Kate smiled. Richard gave a big smile and kiss her hand.

"I'm so glad you're coming home." Richard said.
