part seventeen

The next morning Kate stood in the kitchen looking around in horror. Richard came running to her. He grab her around the waist and look into her wondering eyes. "You are not alone. I'm here for you." He said. She looked lost. She look at him and started to panick a little.

"Kate it's me. Kate!" He let her calm down. He put her chin on his chest and kiss her head.

"Richard." She finally came by a little. He look at her that looked like a white ghost. "I'm afraid."

"Afraid of what?" He asked.

"To close my eyes." She said in terror.

"It's alright. I'm right here." He comfort her. Kate grab her stomach in terror then look at Richard.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I think...it's time." She said. Richard gasp and grab his car keys. He walk her out as her water broke. At the car she jumped in with him.

They rushed to the hospital as fast as they could as Kate got into even more pain. She starts screaming and trying to push but couldn't.

Everything happened fast. She laid in bed ready to give birth but nothing was happening.

"Richard, we need to do a c-section. The baby needs to get out fast and if he doesn't come out on time it's the end." The doctor said.

"Okay, do what ever you can." Richard said.

He stood next to Kate holding her hand as she was drugged and the doctors was busy to cut on her to get the baby out. She look at him.
"Richard, I'm afraid." She said half drunk.

"It's alright. You're fine." Richard smiled. "You're doing so good."

"Richard..." he look at her weak face. "I need you...to know something." She look into his eyes.

"What?" He asked.

"I love you." She said with a smile that begged to run away.

"I love you too." He smiled with tears in his eyes. He missed those words, especially from her.

She gave a smile as her body rest and she got sleepy. The machine's alarms went off as her heart stopped beating.

"What's going on?" He asked.

The doctors asked him to leave as he left seeing Kate staring at him like the dead.
