On the 25th of January 2026 Maya T. I. G forwarded the case to the court of appeal, his Excellency Dr Naseem Alhassan received a letter from the court, he was shocked but shrugged it of, the first court hearing will be on the 25th of February 2026, Maya was well prepared for this all and is still preparing with the aid of Mrs Omar Ganati, days to the court hearing, alot of people have arrived in Kaduna, cause it's all over the country, even in Mrs omar suspended her work and moved down to kaduna with Maya, even Thahani went down to kaduna with her, evem Kaseem was now temporarily transferred to kaduna prison

"the murder case of the late Excellency Laila Naseem Alhassan, has arise after seven and the halve years of the confession and conviction of Kaseem Omar Ganati, the case took almost a year and the halve due to lack of lawyer for the accused and the sudden confection of the accuse , what we all know is that a lawyer has to be the one to forward this case to the court of appeal, but what remains a mystery is that who is this lawyer who came up all of a sudden after Seven years . "Yeah she did, he told me and he is like happy she did, he even told me, he is proud of her"
"Then you should be glad, that shows she isn't going for these case heads on just like that, she values her life and ia taking measure securities"

"There are two things involved with you objecting her acts, is either you don't want her to get involved with something that has to do with His Excellency due to your friendship or you fear for your daughter's life"
"I love her" he said with a sigh

In the apartment they rented kaduna, Maya was seated on the dining table going through a book when the door was opened, after some seconds ignoring she sniffed the air and looked up and she knew her nose really detected her father's perfume, she placed the book on the table, "i come in peace" he said blankly, she motioned to him to sit down on a sofa,

" Maya please it's not to late to back down from this, messing with Naseem isn't something good" he said pleading, "you call trying to free an innocent man messing with the former president" she asked,
"Maya it involves him, his late wife"
"Then he should be grateful, am about to find out who the real murderer is, it is someone within his house hold, how am i messing with him"

"What is that suppose to mean, do you know something"
"I swear I know nothing, what I know is that the disappearance of the past four lawyers who are suppose to stand for the accused isn't natural, am sure something and someone powerful is behind this, and am afraid........ "That i maybe next" she interrupted and he nodded

"So you care" she asked amused and he nodded, "weird way of showing it"
"Believe me, i care alot about you please Maya stop this"
"No" she said with tears in her eyes
"Since the night mother died for good 25 years, all i wanted was for you to show me that you cared"

"Money isn't what i needed from you" she yelled standing up, "not gifts, not money, not meeting to my demands, i wanted you to tuck me in for the night like you did Thahani, to hug me when we are back from school like you did Thahani, to praise me like you did Thahani, to help me choose the best like you did Thahani, to tell me how you love that i look alot like my mother, the woman you love, to tell me how you love my mother, to tell me how proud you are of me, but i got nothing, nothing just an empty rich life, why do i boss Thahani, not because i don't love her, it's because she has what i dont have, what i yearn for, making me to be jealous of her, to sometimes hate her, do you have any idea what you caused between the blood sisters, you don't, you have no idea how that feels, to hate your sister sometimes, to cry yourself to sleep, to feel unwanted, to have self pity, to wish you are some orphan, to think am some homeless kid picked in the street"
He shook his head, "yeah you don't"

"Maya please"
"No don't plead, cause am not ready to give up my seven years of hardship for this caring word you just said that held no truth, i have accepted my faith, i will never get to know what a father's love is"
"For your mother's sake"
"You didn't hesitate to disown me, her daughter not even for her sake, so don't, don't drag her name into this" she yelled, "i have other matters to attend to Mr. Rasheed Shurem" with that she went upstairs.

"No on the first day we are not to let out any evidence" said Minal (Mrs Omar Ganati) that was two days to the hearing, "yes, it is risky, i know, but we have to ask for security measures, cause i believe my Mr. Rasheed when he said the disappearance of the four lawyers isn't natural" said Maya " you mean your father" and Maya rolled her eyes, "i want you to know, that no matter what happens, deep down in his heart, he is proud of you"
" or not, i don't care, let me join Thahani in making dinner" she said and quickly walked to the kitchen,

"You know, Maya i feel this case is meant for you, am proud you didn't back down when dad asked you too" said Thahani in the kitchen, Maya gave a curve smile at her sister, "thanks for being here to support me"
" thats nothing" said Thahani,
"And i know, i may have being this bad sister to you, rude, bossy but apart from mother i want you to know you are always the most important thing in my life, even thou i don't show it" she said her eyes welled with tears, "i always loved you, you were protective and caring" said Thahani and hugged Maya, Maya in turn broke down crying, " bossy, adamant, protective, caring, jovial, grouchy, vexer, loving, ego maniac, ambitious, a perfect combination of Maya" said Thahani and the two laughed

Maya was well prepared for what is to come, she was so eager and nervous at the same time.
