"Guys, this is Julian." Brad introduced him while I just kept staring at him. I tried to find any similarities with Bonnie but there was none. Bonnie had blue eyes and his were brown. Even the features of his face had nothing in common with Bonnie. Maybe I'm just overthinking this.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Caroline, his girlfriend." She pointed at Brad.

"Always had a thing about beautiful redheads." Julian winked at Brad.

"And this is Charlie." he gestured towards me. "Correction, Charlie-the-third-wheel." I smiled making sure to keep my hands busy. One I kept in my pocket and with the other I held my cup.

"Nice to meet you, Charlie." he bowed his head slighlty. He had this grin on his face, it seemed off. Like it was a fake one and very much rehearssed. I didn't like him.

"Okay, let's go get some drinks." Brad pushed Caroline away before she even had time to say anything.

He wanted to talk about something. They were planning something and they're not telling me. God, how good I knew them both.

"What made you say those things about me?" asked Julian once they were gone.

"What?" I pretended not to hear him. The more colder I acted around this guy, I thought the better I'll be. He scoffed silently.

"You said I was one of those guys that were nice at first but then they turn out to be bad. Why?" he asked again.

"Oh...that." I pointed at him in revelation. "Well, he said old friend so I figured something might have gone wrong with you two so you split up. That must be why he never mentioned you." I explained taking a sip but not taking my eyes off of him.

"Actually..." he started. "I moved away and came back two years ago. The reason why we never met was because I was always so busy and he was always busy with his girlfriend. But trust me, we're very good friends." He grinned with that fake grin again. "Not something I can say about you, though." he added.

"Excuse me?" I scoffed.

"He never mentioned you either. See you around." he winked and walked away. I really didn't like this guy.

After a few seconds, Caroline and Brad were back.

"Where's Julian?" he asked. "He went to take a leak around the corner." I said and took a long, long sip.

Brad put on the grass the red cup he got for Julian and sat on the cut down tree again. Caroline followed while I sat on the grass in front of them.

"Does Julian go to our school?" asked Caroline. "Yes, he moved back from Urio City two years ago. After he had cleared some issues." He added in the end.

"He's a nice guy, I remember when we were kids he was always the first to protect us in a fight." Brad smiled as he remembered the old days.

"Eh, I don't really like him."I said gathering my lips. "He tends to be a little cocky and arrogant but I think you'll get along just fine." he insisted. "Cheers to that." Caroline lifted her cup. We did the same and after we tapped them, we drank.

After that was my queue to leave. "I'm going to ask Jenna to let me play with her toys." I said standing up. "Be nice with Julian." Brad warned. "I'm always nice." I scoffed as I continued.

I got up on the terrace where Jenna was staring at her laptop.

"Want some?" I asked reaching out a red cup that I got for her on the way. She took off her headphones and grabbed it. With one gulp, she drank it all.

"Thanks." she said licking her lips.

" It's not water, you know." I smiled. She nodded. "Kind of."
