Charlie's POV

I looked like a wounded bird as I waited for Alison to come out and say anything to me. I was still wet but didn't care. My hair was muddy, my clothes sticked on my body but I didn't care. All I cared about was Julian.

The car drove so fast even I couldn't see it coming. It should have hit me, not Julian.

The two drivers were drunk but they were sober enough to call an ambulance. That was forty and something minutes ago. I couldn't bring myself to call Brad or anyone. This was all my fault.

The hospital called Julian's parents who turned out to be out of town. They should be here by now. What do I even say to them?

If they find out Julian had been in a party they will accuse him of not changing at all.

Why did he have to come after me? Why did I have to be so weak? I should have stayed and said something. Instead, I ran like a coward that I was.

This happens everytime I see Jonathan. I say to myself that I will not be affected my his presence but when he's really there, I choke.

And that weakness got to someone I care about.

I started hearing footsteps but couldn't bring myself to lift my head and see who it is. The steps neared and neared and I felt someone sit next to me.

"Is he dead?" asked a voice. That didn't sound very enthusiastic. I lifted my head to the side. It wasn't Mason or Julia or even Brad. My heart skipped a beat.

"Well, is he?" he asked again with raised eyebrows. I instinctively moved a seat back holding Tobias's gaze.

I couldn't say anything.

"What a coincidence, though!" he sighed. "My guys came to me saying 'We hit Julian with our car'" he imitated a female's voice. "I was heart broken, that's why I came here as fast as I could." he acted hurt.

"That's karma for you!" he shrugged his shoulders.

"He got what he deserved and I hope he doesn't survive!" he stood up and started leaving. I had to say something, anything.

"He will!" I whispered. I gulped. "He will!" this time he heard me and stopped.

"He will survive." it was more to convince myself rather that him.

"Either way, I'm done with him!" he said not turning then continued to walk away.

"He will make it!" I said to myself again to calm my nerves.

A few minutes later, I hear another footsteps and this time I did look. It was Adam. He looked tired and scared.

"Where is he?" he came to me. "What happened? Did they say anything?" the questions were numberous.

"I don't know anything!" I shook my head. Just then came Mason, Julia with Brad and Caroline.

I was so glad to see Caroline. I needed her to take me away.

"Why didn't you call us?" Brad kneeled before me. I just looked at the ground. "I thought he got to you and you guys went home. What the hell were you thinking marching out like that?" he screamed. Caroline tapped his shoulder to make him stop but he didn't.

"When will you ever stop being such a kid?!"

"Shut up!" Caroline screamed shocking us all. "Look at her. Do you really think she's capable of functioning properly?" she pushed Brad aside. "No one talk to her until she's cleaned up and decend looking!" she demanded as she lifted me and helped me walk away.
