My insides were going mad as I stared upon Charlie's school bag which was now hanging from the school lights. It was completely open and empty with her books scattered all over the caffetteria. On the bottom of her bag hung a big, long flyer with a very irritating quote scribbled down it.
If you wanna be rich, you gotta be a bitch.
I felt myself losing control as I looked for the person who I knew was responcible for all of this. With blood boiling all over my body, I rushed to Jonathan who was standing with his friends not noticing me.
His pupils widened at my sight and he took a few steps back.
"Hey, I didn't do all this shit!" he held his hands in deffense.
I didn't want to hear it. "The fuck you didn't!" my fist flew and he was on the ground. His friends pushed me back but I punched them too even if I had no idea where.
"JULIAN?!" I heard Brad scream, stopping me from hitting Jonathan again. I turned my head like a wild beast only to see Charlie and Caroline trying to put down the bag and rip off the flyer.
My legs moved toward them. Charlie was jumping up and down trying to reach the bag but she couldn't. I saved her from her misery and pulled down the flyer with one swift move. She didn't look up at me as she forcefully started ripping it apart.
I put my hands around her head and pulled the flyer away from her. She was shaking, even trying her best not to cry.
"It's okay." I whispered to her. She leaned to me as much as she could hopping she'd disappear.
Suddenly, she stopped shaking and I felt her gripping my tshirt. She looked up at me.
"I know who did this." her expression changed from shock then to anger. She parted from me and looked for a face in the crowd.
It took her a minute until I noticed her fists clenching.
I looked to where she was looking to see a group of girls giggling at each other. Only one was in the middle staring directly at us.
Sarah. The girl that had that bet with Jonathan.
"Hailey!" I called looking around the room.
"On it!" she screamed back. My head turned to the direction of her voice which was exactly where Sarah was standing. She pushed all the other girls away, since they feared her none dared to stop her from grabbing Sarah's hair and pulling her toward me.
"Stop!" Sarah tried fighting back but Hailey was too strong.
Charlie's POV
Hailey was the only girl in this school I didn't want to mess with. She was tough, one of the guys, the only one I'd consider a threat.
She pulled Sarah toward me and Julian, making her look at us.
The moment I looked into her eyes, I knew this was her doing. She overdid herself with this prank. Even I wouldn't go so far but she just wanted to be on my bad side.
Julian walked ahead of me to grab her face and force her to look at him.
"You're really testing my patience." his voice harsh. "I don't think I'd regret if I'd punch you. Being a girl and all!" I had never heard him talk so coldly. It scared me a little.
Sarah looked horrified, she looked at me like she was pleading to be rescued.
She ruined my books, my phone was missing and she wrote that awfull quote on the flyer.
I pushed Julian away gently, admitedly, I was a little scared to look at him.
"Do you want me to break her pretty nose? Anything for my dude's girl." Hailey smirked gesturing with her head towards Julian.
