The next day, I woke up with a banging headache throbbing inbetween my eyebrows and I felt like my body had been turned inside out- if that makes any sense. I only just spent the whole night having a nightmare about me being swallowed by angry mutant fish, with the faces of Dylan. I guess that means I'm not over him, I admitted to myself. Wearily, I glanced at the alarm clock that was sitting on my dresser. 6:15 it read. "Great, another day of prison." I growled as I heaved myself off of the bed, kissing it a sorrowful goodbye. I was an extremely active and energetic girl, but GOD, did I love sleep.

"Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!!!" Somebody behind me screeched, gaining the attention of the whole corridor. Ah, of course, none other but the amazing Amirah Samuels. She was my personal notebook, diary, calculator and best friend all in one. "Why didn't you wait for me today?" She asked, pouting at me like a puppy dog. I loved this girl, but she was very demanding.

"Oh my gosh! Sorry! I actually forgot, I just needed to clear my head, you know, after the 'festivities' of yesterday." I apoligised, with emphasis on the festivities.

"Oh. Right, sorry. He was a waste of time anyways! GOSH I hate him! Who does he think he is, running around, leaving scars like that?! If I saw him right now, I would... I would... Sorry Leah, but I would kiss him." She said sheepishly. My mouth formed into a big "O" as my best friend admitted that she would kiss my ex.

"AMIRAH!!" I yelled, disgusted

"Sorry Aaliyah, but I think we all know he is irresistable." I hated to admit it but she was right. That's one thing I loved about Amirah, she was all real, all straight forward, no strings attached.

"Yeah yeah, I know, hate to admit it, but I know. By the way, what's my lesson now?"

"Forgetful fool. You've got MATHS!" She yelled as she slapped my arm.

"Yay me." I said dryly. And guess who I sit next to? None other but Dylan.

We hugged goodbye and I headed to Maths. I dreaded going to that lesson, so I savoured each and every footstep.

The moment I drifted into the classroom, I heard the irritating sound of stifled giggles and some immature, beast-like student yell "DUMMMPEDDD!" After that, a roar laughter erupted around the classroom, and I felt my eyes turn sour and my body freeze into hard cement as reality kicked in. I searched the classroom for anyone, anything that could save me, until I saw Dylan with a wide grin on his face, obviously spreading the news. Why me? This was obviously some kind of a joke, I don't understand why people should get bullied because of who they break up with.

Sparks of angry fire began to light in the depths of my chest, as I was prepared to beat up everybody in the whole classroom, not knowing how, but I just wanted to.

Instead, I ran.

I ran as fast as I could, just wanting to get out of it all,

Just wishing that High School life wasn't so cruel to me,

Just wishing that I was pretty enough for people to love me, not for me to go looking for love,

Just wishing that love really did exist.
