"Ouch! Mind my leg!" I winced as Matthew tried to stuff me into his car.

"Move it then! Sheesh." I looked up at him to give him the dirtiest look I could muster.

"It's your fault that I'm like this so don't get shirty with me son." I warned. Matt rolled his eyes at me and put my seatbelt on.

It turns out the super bitch had a really bad aim. Or maybe she was just less tough than she seemed, because the bullet was way off. I managed to kick the gun out of her hand and knock her to the ground before running away. Somehow I had managed to trip over Matt and land rather awkwardly on my ankle. So here we were, struggling to get away in time. The situation would probably be hilarious in hindsight, but it most certainly wasn't right now.

It took us just under an hour to get to my house and by then, the pain in my ankle had decreased. Matthew cut off the engine and turned to me.

"It's going to be difficult to explain the situation to my brothers." He sighed, ruffling his hair.

"I could imagine," I replied, giving him a sheepish look. "Well, thank you for getting me home."

"No problem," Matt looked at me like he wanted to say something. He shook his head slightly and a small fake smile filtered on to his face. "See you later."

I hobbled out of the car, and unlocked my door. I turned around to see Matt still waiting outside, with an unreadable look on his face. I gave him a wary smile before I went inside.

I went in to the kitchen to see my brother sitting on the tabletop eating an apple.

"Hey." I greeted.

"Why are you limping?"

"No hi then?"

"And who was that guy who dropped you off?" He narrowed his eyes at me. I returned the same look to him.

"What's it to you?"

"I'm your older brother, I have a right to know." I rolled my eyes at him and scoffed. Before I could think of a smart reply, my dad came in the kitchen.

"Hi dad."

"How are you doing, Leah?"

"I'm tired," I replied, pretending to stifle a yawn. "I think I'm going to lie down in my room." I tried to walk as normally and as quickly as possible.

"Aaliyah, wait,"

Shit.

I turned around to see my dad with the same look on his face as my brother. Damn, they look so alike.

"Why are you walking around like a duck?"

"I tripped over..?" At least it was the truth.

"Right. Ok, hobble up to bed now." He teased. I rolled my eyes for the umpteenth time today.

The second I got to my room, I flew onto my bed and let out a loud sigh. I wondered how Callum and Will were going to react to the situation at hand.

***Matthew's POV***

I pulled up to our driveway, already anticipating the headache that would surely follow suit. I thought about the fight that took place earlier today. Maria had changed so much. Well, that's what happens when you get too consumed in gang culture. That's why we had to get out as fast as we could. I thought about Aaliyah's fight. She's undeniably got good skills, nobody would be able to ignore that. I couldn't help but think about how attractive she looked when she held the gun at Maria. I knew how nervous she must have felt, but she most certainly didn't show it. Now that was hot.

Shaking my head, I entered the house to see Will laying down upside down on the chair, reading a car magazine. Callum was mindlessly flicking through channels on the TV. They barely spared me a second glance. Sighing, I clicked the bones in my neck and back.

"Maria..."

Both of their heads simultaneously sprung up to face me. I gave them both a tentative look and continued.

"She followed us. We-"

"She did what? And Aaliyah was with you?" Will rolled off of the sofa and stood up. "Did you-"

"Let me finish, please?" I cut him off, sending him a dirty look. Callum stayed silent but he watched me with a calculating look on his face. "We went to the Daracmara place and she brought two of the minions. Th-"

"Where's Aaliyah? Is she safe?"

"Let me fucking finish, please?" It was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain my patience. "We fought them off and I took her home. She's safe."

Will's facial features noticeably smoothed.

"We need to tell her everything." Callum finally spoke up.

"I agree. We can't let this blow out of control." Will added.

"First thing tomorrow."

A/N:

Ok so this is the sincerest apology ever. I had the full intention to not continue this story after I wrote so many chapters when I was abroad and then lost them all. I got chronic writers block for this story, and quite frankly, I didn't know where I was taking the story. I also thought that it was badly written, I have several grammar and spelling errors throughout >.<

But I think I may decide to follow through with this story, after almost two years lolololll

So this is just a short chapter until I can gather my bearings and work out a good enough storyline!!

Thank you so much for reading, comment, vote, share!

Xoxo
