The sound of Will rapping a pencil on his jeans, tapping his foot on the floor and bopping his head to NO MUSIC was making me go crazy. I was struck with anticipation, waiting for Callum to walk through the door with fear in his eyes. "Boo daa yoo," Will began. "Woop dee do da.." I could feel a deep headache forming in the side of my head as I massaged my temples, willing myself to block out his annoying voice.

"SHUTUP Will! You've been doing that for the past 10 minutes! Let's just wait for Callum to come back OKAY?!" I yelled at him, mustering all of my strength to shout at him. He was really beginning to get on my nerves.

He whistled obnoxiously. "Jeez, whatever floats your boat." I cringed at his voice and turned to Matthew, who was sitting there, appearing to be deep in thought. He had thick worry lines on his forhead, looking so pained. I got up from my seat and sauntered towards the chair beside him, and put my hand on top of his. He immediately flinched at my touch, removing his hand from under mine. Fear was thick in his grey eyes, and he looked at me as if I was a stranger. What was he thinking about?

Pins of rejection stabbed at my chest, and I eventually found it hard to breathe."Mat-Matthew?" My voice  was shaky. His face quickly softened, the frown lines disappeared.

"I'm sorry Leah, don't mind me..." He trailed off.

"Matthew what's wrong?"

"Nothing, don't worry. Let's just leave it ok?"

"But Matt, there must be something wr-"

"LETS JUST LEAVE IT. OKAY?" He repeated sternly. His eyes clouded over and changed to a dark shade of grey, almost black. I quickly averted my gaze, he was being way too harsh for my liking. I stared at the floor and pretended to admire the black floorboards, tears pricking in my eyes. I heard a  loud, tired sigh.

"Look, I'm sorry for snapping... It's just I-"

"MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!" Callum bellowed proudly as he burst into the living room, a triumphant grin plastered onto his face.

Does anybody ever get to finish their sentences in this place?!, I thought to myself.

"Yes, yes, thank me now." He took a dramatic bow.

"Wow, Cal... how did you do it?!" I was purely mesmerised at his 'way with words'. He mysteriously tapped on his nose.

"That's for me to know and for YOU to find out." He pointed his finger at me. I rolled my eyes at him, but I still smiled at him and his cockiness. I got up and walked to Callum's side, beside the door.

"Well, I'm beat. Where will I be sleeping then?" I fake yawned. I had to get out of here.

Matthew got out of his seat. "I'll show you." OH NO, I didn't really want to be alone with Matt, not if he's going to be in this kind of mood. I stared at Callum with pleading eyes, hoping he'd understand what I was signalling to him. He raised an amused eyebrow, but nodded his head as well.

"Nah, it's cool Matt. I've got her." He ushered me out of the room before he could protest. We ran up the stairs, and I exhaled with relief. He guided me to a room 2 doors to the right.

The room was quite beautiful and simple. There was a king sized bed in the middle of the room, with a bright blue lamp. The walls where also a light blue, complimenting everything else in the room. I immediately smiled; blue was my favourite colour.

"Spill." That was all Callum said and I understood it completely.

"Matthew is being funny- not a haha funny- a wierd kind of funny. He was snapping at me and all sorts. When I touched him, he flinched; I don't know... its just wierd I guess. And I don't really want further confrontation."

"Yeah, he's probably cranky. He's probably PMSing." He shrugged. I snorted with laughter, did he just say his brother was on his period?! I know Callum was just trying to butter up the situation by cracking a joke, but there was more to it than I knew. I decided to drop it though.

Callum looked me over, raising his eyebrow. Then, he furrowed his eyebrows in frustration.

“What?” I asked, overwhelmed by his looks.

“What are you planning on sleeping in?” He asked, worried. OH RIGHT! I’m wearing jeans, the most uncomfortable item of clothing I could ever sleep in. I usually slept in bedtime shorts; I always had to free my legs.

“Oh, erm... right. I’m in a bit of a predicament aren’t I? Well before I do anything, I need a hot shower!” I needed to shower the whole bad day off of my skin. My eyes felt heavy and my limbs were weak- a shower would be perfect right now.

“Well, if it’s ok with you, I’m sure you could wear one of my t-shirts if you don’t have anything comfortable to wear.” He was being so awkward about me having to wear his clothes. How cute is that?

I smiled and nodded at him. He showed me the bathroom further down the hallway, giving me a towel along with a smile and closing the door behind him. What a gentleman. I turned on the shower, allowing the hot water to run down my body, unknotting by back. It felt great to be warm all over again.

10 minutes through the shower, memories of today flooded back into my mind. I had been trying very hard to kick out feelings of regret and fear, as I knew that I have been sentenced to death by a man I didn’t even know. And he knew my name. It was a matter of time until he found out where I actually lived and where I went to school, and how to get to my dad... and my brother... and... And...

“LEAH! Are you done in there? Are you ok? Why aren’t you answering?” A voice shouted from outside the bathroom.

Oh crap, how long had I been in the shower for? I scrambled for the tap and closed it, silencing the water beating onto the ground. “Yeah, I’ll be out in a second!” I hollered at him. He sounded so scared, it almost made me laugh. I opened the door to see Callum looking incredibly worried, his green eyes wide. He let out a sigh of relief and leant on the side of the door looking weak.

“Oh shit Leah, don’t ever scare me like that again, I thought you went and killed yourself or something!” He sounded like a worried mother. “You were in the shower for 2 hours LEAH!” 2 hours?! It only seemed like a few minutes to me.

“Sorry Cal, I didn’t even realise.” I apologised sheepishly.

“Wow. Whatever. I’m going to be getting early grey hairs if you carry on like this.” He smirked at me. My heart immediately melted. Did that mean that he expected me to stay in his life? How nice of him. He handed me a t-shirt and boxers and I immediately felt hot. Were these his boxers? Or Will’s? Or Matthews? Does it even matter? I smiled appreciatively and took them from him.

“Goodnight Leah, I’m sorry for all the shit we’ve put you through today, but I hope you can at least have a good night, knowing that I promise you will be safe. We WILL keep you safe.” He assured me, and I felt my eyes water. Without thinking, I jumped up and gave him a gigantic wide hug, whilst only being wrapped with a towel. He hugged me back and then we pulled away after a couple of seconds. He had a gleeful pink blush on his cheeks, making me smile widely at him.

“Goodnight Callum.” I smiled at him and walked into the blue bedroom. On my face I plastered a neutral expression, but inside, I was doing a million jumping jacks per second. I managed to make him blush, that made me tingle with excitement.
