It's been a few days since Christopher shot Kelly. Jorge still has no intention of forgiving him. Aidan's still standing by his side, making sure Jorge won't try to kill him. They're on the road. Walking on the pavement. They haven't seen any cars go by so they're still gonna do it. Suddenly the sky seems gray.
"Looks like it's about to rain." Said Jorge. "Should we stay on the road or find somewhere till the rain stops?"
"Well, it hasn't even started yet so let's stay on the road for now." Replied Aidan.
They keep walking on the road but within ten minutes it starts raining.
"What about now Aidan? Should we stay on the road?" Asked Jorge.
"If you wanna hide we ca-" Christopher says but is interrupted.
"- I don't think I asked you. Aidan, should we keep on the road?" Jorge asked angerly.
"Let's just keep moving and not waste time." Replied Aidan.
They keep walking towards their next stop, Brentwood. Now Brentwood was the biggest city they lived near. Bigger than Grove and Westerville combined. Aidan thought to himself 'I need to get there as soon as possible.' He knew that's where the hospital was located. Where Nicole was at before everything happened.
As they keep moving towards Brentwood they run into a zombie. Jorge quickly walks up to it and stabs it in the head. And then again, and again, and again.
"Jorge, are you alright?" Asked Aidan.
"Oh I'm fine. I'm just getting some of my anger out." Jorge replied.
They keep walking. Christopher thinks 'Maybe I should just leave.' 'I think Jorge might kill me next chance he gets.'
So they keep moving on. The rain starts to slow down about twenty minutes after Jorge killed that zombie. They soon see a sign telling them that Brentwood is about two miles away.
"Hey, do you guys think that cause Brentwood is so big that there are definitely going to be other groups there?" Asked Aidan.
"..." Both Jorge and Christopher go silent.
"I mean, that would make sense, right?" Aidan asked.
"Well, when you put it like that, yeah there are probably going to be other people there." Replied Jorge.
"..." Christopher stays silent as he doesn't want Jorge to yell at him again.
"Well we still gotta go but we have to play it super safe now." Said Jorge.
As they approach the outskirts of Brentwood they stop and ask themselves one thing 'Is this gonna be worth it?'
Soon after they think that Christopher speaks up and asks them "Guys, is this gonna be worth dying for?"
"What?" Replied Jorge.
"Look, we know that people are gonna be in this city. Not a lot if any of them are gonna be friendly. Most of them are gonna want to kill us. So is this worth dying for?" Christopher asked.
"Christopher, if my wife is alive she's going to be in there. In Brentwood. There's only one chance to find her and it doesn't involve not going in there." Replied Aidan.
They all walk into Brentwood. Aidan is the most afraid of doing this. But he knows he needs to go, in order to find Nicole.
As they walk in they notice how messed up Brentwood has gotten since before what happened. Aidan notices the hospital that Nicole would've been at. He thinks 'Should I point it out to them or go by myself?'
He decides to stay with the group and tell them later as it's getting dark out. As night falls they find shelter in a small house near the edge of the city. They make sure to board up what they can and set up to sleep there for the night.
"Hey, guys?" Aidan asks while still trying to be quiet. "I saw the hospital that Nicole was at, I think we have to go there tomorrow. Just to see if there are any signs of her being alive." Said Aidan.
"Ok, we can go there in the morning but for right now we gotta get some sleep." Replied Jorge.
As they all start to sleep Christopher thinks 'If I'm gonna leave, now would be the right time.' He then remembers that he used to work at the hospital Aidan's referring to. He decides to stay and help Aidan cause he's been making sure he stays alive and not being killed by Jorge.
It's morning. About six-thirty. The sun's still trying to wake up. Jorge is up first. He preps everything they have and is set to go to the hospital before seven. Aidan wakes up soon after Jorge got everything ready. Christopher wakes up at seven. About fifteen minutes later they're all set to go.
As they make their way to the hospital they see two zombies. Jorge and Aidan go and quickly take care of them. They then continue towards the hospital.
As they arrive at the front of the hospital Christopher says "Guys, I used to work here. There's a backdoor that might be safer to go through."
"Well then let's go through the backdoor." Replied Jorge.
They then go around the building to get to the backdoor. As they enter they notice that there's nothing, no zombies, no people, and that most of the medicine was gone. They move up to each floor. Checking for any signs of life, whether it is alive or dead.
They go up to the first floor. As they search around and find nothing, they move on. They go up to the second floor, nothing there either.
"Hey, Christopher?" Aidan asks. "What floor would they keep somebody who was in a car accident?"
"That would depend on how the accident was." Replied Christopher.
"let's say it was really bad." Replied Aidan.
"Then maybe check floor number five." Replied Christopher.
They all head towards the fifth floor. As they head up, Jorge gets there first with Aidan following him and Christopher behind him. As they all enter onto the fifth floor they see zombie after zombie.
"I think we should leave now." Aidan said scared.
"Yeah, I think that's a great idea." Replied Jorge.
Before they could start running the other way the zombies notice them and start chasing them. Now with the zombies behind them, they all are running down flights of stairs.
"Keep running!" Yells Jorge.
"What do you think we were gonna do, not run?" Christopher replied sarcastically.
As they make it back to the lobby and head for the back door they realize they didn't close it so there were zombies over there too. They race for the front door where to their knowledge there were no zombies. They are able to escape alive as they escape through the revolving door at the front of the hospital.
"So what do we do now?" Asked Christopher.
"I...I don't know." Replied Jorge.
"Well I know we can't give up. She's gotta be alive still and we gotta keep searching." Said Aidan.
"Look, man, I think we're past finding out if she's alive or not. I think it's time you just dropped it and focused on staying alive." Replied Christopher.
They keep moving in Brentwood, now looking for supplies. Just supplies.
