Chapter 16 - Back From The Dead

As Aidan walks back to his tent Jorge makes sure Christopher is ok. Nicole followed Aidan back to his tent.

"What the hell was that?" Asked a surprised and angry Nicole.

"Did you think I was just gonna let him get away with putting a gun to your head?" Replied an even angrier Aidan.

"I thought you would've had a talk with him, not knock him out." Replied Nicole.

"Look, he got what was coming to him." Replied Aidan. "He needed to take a god damn step back."

"What do you mean?" Asked Nicole.

"First he kills someone who didn't have to die. Then he tells me over and over again to give up hope. And now this. I think what I did was a bit justified." Responded a furious Aidan.

"Do what you want Aidan, I'm going to check and see how he's doing." Replied Nicole.

Nicole leaves the tent to go check on Christopher. Aidan stays in the tent trying to figure out what to do now. He thinks 'I'll just go for now and take out this anger on some zombies.' 

As Aidan heads for the front gate he is stopped by Jorge who needs to have a few words with Aidan.

"What the fuck was that?" Jorge said angerly.

"You have eyes, you saw what I did." Replied Aidan.

"You were advocating for him to stay in our little group a few weeks ago, what made you do this?" Asked Jorge.

"You already know why. You should've god damn told me as soon as you knew." Says Aidan. 

Aidan goes back towards the front gate.

As Aidan leaves Nicole slowly dragged Christopher into the medical tent. Jorge quickly walks over to Nicole and helps her put Christopher on a bed. 

Some time passes after Aidan leaves the base. Aidan's killed about a dozen zombies so far after leaving. Aidan stands in the street wondering if they'll let him back in. On his way back to the base he sees a few zombies. About three. He goes towards the first one and quickly stabs it in the head with a knife. He does the same with the second zombie. He figured for the third zombie he'd try something new. He goes towards the third zombie and starts throwing punches at the zombies head until there's no more head to punch. He falls to his knees, bloodied up hands, kneeling in front of a decapitated zombie and a puddle of blood. 'It's getting dark.' He thinks to himself. 'I should head back now.'  He then gets up and heads back towards the base. 

Aidan soon arrives back at the base. Nicole, Jorge, and Christopher are all sitting down at the table near the cooking area when Aidan walks in. Aidan heads right towards the tents deciding not to bother talking to them. He just wants to sleep right now.

As he gets into his tent he hears footsteps coming towards his tent. It was Nicole. She gets into Aidan's tent and tries to talk to him.

"Feeling better?" Nicole asks.

"I just want to sleep." Aidan replied.

"Mind if I sleep in here?" Nicole asks.

"Go for it." Aidan responded.

It's about three in the morning. Christopher's the only one awake. As he lies in his tent he thinks 'Should I try and get Aidan back?' He decides not to but if the right moment came he would try something.

Shortly after Christopher thinks that he hears something. A beeping sound. He leaves his tent to see if there was something going on. He sees nothing so he turns around to go back into his tent. As soon as he turns towards the tent he hears an explosion go off. It blew up on the right wall of the base, the exact opposite side of where the tents are located. He turns to see a huge hole in the wall of the base. He sees someone running away but couldn't tell who it was. Almost imminently the other people get up and see what just happened.

Before anyone could make a comment they all hear zombie sounds coming closer to them.

"I don't know what just happened but we gotta go, quick." Said Jorge.

Before they all start moving towards the exit they hear someone yelling.

"Run!" Someone says off in the distance.

"Who is that?" Asks Christopher.

They then see Dylan at the hole in the wall telling them to get out of there and start running cause there was a horde of zombies coming this way.

"How are you alive?" Asked a confused Christopher.

"Long story but right now we gotta go!" Replied Dylan.

They all leave the base and start running away from the horde of zombies coming towards them. They soon realize they no longer saw the horde that was chasing them. Dylan suggests that they stop in a random house to sleep there for the night. 

They find a house that Jorge, Aidan, and Christopher had stayed in before. It was the house Aidan found that letter in. Aidan and Nicole stay in the room Aidan had slept in before, the room with the letter.

Christopher, Jorge, and Dylan all sleep downstairs. They all talk about what happened and how Dylan's alive.
