Chapter 15 - Over-run

Earlier that day around six in the evening, Dylan and Christopher left to go check out this house that Dylan had been wanting to check out for a while. He hadn't been able to go because he couldn't leave the base alone for a long period of time but now that he has Jorge, Christopher, and Aidan on his side he feels a little more comfortable leaving for an hour or two.

Dylan decided to take Christopher with him cause he didn't want him to accidentally spill the beans about Nicole being there. Dylan trusted Jorge more than Christopher but taking Christopher with him to this house could help build a little more trust between them.

As they approach the house Dylan peeks inside to see if there was anything inside. He takes a quick look and sees no sign of other people in there. He tries to open the door using the doorknob but it's locked.

"You should use a rock. That seems to work for Jorge." Christopher said.

"You wanna try it, go for it." Replied Dylan.

Christopher picks up a rock from the ground. He goes around to the side of the house, where there's a big window. He throws the rock at the window, making a small hole in the glass.

"Were you even trying to be a little stealthy?" Asked Dylan trying to keep his voice low.

"I didn't think it'd be that loud." Replied Christopher.

 "Well, I guess hand me a rock." Said Dylan.

Christopher picks up a rock from the ground and hands it to Dylan.

Dylan uses the rock to try and break the lock on the door.

"Are you sure that's how that works?" Asked Christopher.

"I've done it before and it worked then." Replied Dylan.

After a few tries, the door opens. Dylan and Christopher walk into the house. As they enter they see a staircase.

"Alright, you go upstairs and I'll look down here, ok?" Asked Dylan.

"Ok." Christopher responded as he headed upstairs.

When Christopher gets upstairs he sees a few rooms he can search. He starts by checking out the bathroom.

"Well, I guess while I'm here I might as well drain the main vein." Christopher says to himself whilst unzipping his pants.

After he's done with that he moves onto the next room closest to the bathroom. He heads into a bedroom. 'It looks like a child's bedroom.' He thinks to himself. As he walks in the sees a closet boarded up. He proceeds to try and open the closet and when he does a zombie of a five or six-year-old kid comes out.

"Oh shit!" He says frantically reaching for his gun.

He quickly grabs his gun and fires a shot into the zombie kids head. 'That was close.' He thinks. As he goes to continue searching the upstairs he hears pounding on one of the bedroom doors that was closed. He slowly walks towards the door. As he has his hand on the doorknob he hears Dylan scream. 

Before he could run downstairs he instinctively turned the doorknob and then started to run. Now behind him were around fifteen to twenty zombies. As he runs downstairs to check on Dylan he sees he's climbed on top of a rather large bookshelf. He turned his head a little bit to see another twenty zombies coming towards him.

"Go! Run! Save yourself!" Dylan screamed at Christopher.

Christopher runs out the front door and starts running to the base.

Back at the base while this was happening Nicole was telling Aidan everything that had happened to her since they were split up. 

"So once it all started I thought I was screwed. I had run out of the hospital and saw plenty of zombies in the street. Then Dylan came along and helped me and taught me how to kill the zombies. We became a pretty good team." Said Nicole.

"Did you think I was dead?" Asked Aidan. 

"That thought was always in the back of my mind but I hoped you weren't. But I also had to think of that being a very real possibility." Replied Nicole. "Oh and then so I'm at this military base and one of your friends I think his name is Christopher, anyways he brought me here with a gun to my head and then tied me up. I think it was because he didn't know who I was but still." 

"Wait, he did what?" Aidan asked starting to get very angry.

"Oh yea, gun to my head brought me here and tied me up in one of the tents." Replied Nicole.

Before Aidan could say another word he hears Christopher screaming whilst running into the base. Jorge goes up to Christopher and is trying to calm him down.

"Dylan's dead!" Christopher screams.

"Calm down! Screaming isn't gonna help anyone. What happened?" Asked Jorge.

"We were checking out this house and there were a lot of zombies and he was on a bookshelf and he told me to run and now he's dead." Replied a very scared Christopher.

Aidan gets out of his tent, walking directly towards Christopher angerly. Nicole gets out of the tent as well thinking 'What is he doing?' Before very soon realizing what he was about to do.

Aidan walks right up to Christopher and punches him with as much force as he could. 

"Maybe I should've just put a gun up to your head instead." Aidan says then walking away back to his tent.

"What was that for?" Jorge yells.

"You apparently already know." Replies Aidan.
