Chapter 14 - Mistakes

Jorge pulled Christopher out of the tent as quickly as possible.

"Christopher do you know what you just did?" Jorge asked trying to stay quiet.

"I...I think I caught the person who tried to kill us, right?" Replied Christopher.

"Christopher, do you know who that is?" Asked Jorge.

"I guess not cause I don't know why you're acting like this." Christopher responded.

"Christopher, that's Nicole. Aidan's wife." Replied Jorge.

Christopher didn't realize what that meant for a few seconds but soon realizes how screwed he is.

"Don't tell Aidan." Christopher replied scared of what Aidan might do.

"Why shouldn't we tell him?" Asked Jorge.

"Cause I may have held a gun to her head and tied her up." Replied Christopher.

"That would be a good reason to not tell him." Replied Jorge. "We still have to tell him at some point, though." 

Jorge and Christopher walk back into the tent Nicole was being held in.

"Can I be untied?" Asked Nicole.

"Hold on, before we do that I need you to stay here in this tent even after I untie you." Said Jorge.

"Why? Do you still not trust me?" Asked Nicole.

"Look, this isn't our base. We don't know if you'll be welcomed with open arms here." Jorge responded.

"I know this isn't your base, it's mine." Said Nicole. "Well, technically it's not just mine. It's Dyl-" Said Nicole. 

"-It's Dylan and yours!" Responded Jorge before Nicole could finish her sentence. 

"How did you know that?" Replied a confused Nicole.

"One second." Said Jorge.

 Jorge leaves the tent and heads to Dylan's tent. Jorge wakes Dylan up and brings him to the tent Nicole is in.

"Nicole!" Dylan says excitedly to see Nicole.

"Hi, can I be untied?" Nicole asks in a snarky tone.

"Can one of you untie her." Asked Dylan.

"Wait! Dylan, I need you to know something before any of us untie Nicole." Said Jorge.

"Ok? And wait, how do you know Nicole?" Replied Dylan.

"She's Aidan's wife and we can't tell him that she's here." Replied Jorge.

"Why can't we tell him?" Dylan responded confused.

"Cause Christopher brought her here with a gun to her head and proceeded to tie her up. I don't know what he'd do to Christopher so I think we should just wait on the whole telling Aidan thing." Replied Jorge.

"Ok, we won't tell him now untie Nicole." Said Dylan.

Jorge proceeds to untie Nicole. As soon as she stands up she slaps Christopher.

"What was that for?" Asked Christopher.

"For putting a gun to my head, idiot." Replied Nicole.

They all agree to talk more about this in the morning. Jorge and Christopher head back into their tents but Dylan stays for now.

"You never told me you were married?" Said Dylan.

"You never asked." Replied Nicole.

Dylan leaves the tent and heads back to his. They all get some sleep.

It's now morning, about eight. Jorge is the first one up. He gets up and goes over to the cooking area to make some breakfast. It's Tuesday so he's making some eggs. He decides to make some for everyone. 

While he's cooking Christopher comes out of his tent and walks towards Jorge. He goes to sit down near the cooking area at a table nearby. Dylan walks over about ten minutes after, sitting down at the same table as Christopher.

Jorge says he'll be right there with the food. He first walks over to the tents and hands Nicole a plate. He walks back over to Christopher and Dylan and sits down.

"So, now that we've all had time to think. What do we do?" Asked Jorge.

"We could just never talk about the whole gun to the head thing?" Responded Christopher.

"Oh no, we're gonna talk about that." Said Dylan.

Before someone else could say something Aidan slowly limps over to the table. This was the first time he'd been able to walk on his own since getting hurt. He sits at the table.

"So, how is everyone?" Asked Aidan.

"Everyone's doing fine." Responded Jorge. "Want some eggs?" 

"Nah, I'm fine for now." Replied Aidan. "So, can I move out of that medical tent yet?"

"Well, I guess so, now that your walking on your own you should be fine." Replied Dylan.

"So last night I think I heard you guys arguing about something. Was I just hearing things or like, what were you all so heated about?" Asked Aidan.

"I think you were just hearing things cause we were all asleep last night." Replied Dylan.

"Yea, we were all sleeping last night." Said Jorge.

"Yeah, must've been the wind." Said Aidan.

Later that day, around six in the evening Christopher and Dylan went on a supply run while Aidan was sleeping. While they were gone Nicole gets out of her tent and walks towards Aidan's.

She gets into Aidan's tent and tries to wake him up.

"Aidan, hey get up." Nicole says trying not to be too loud.

Aidan's still asleep. She decides to use her old tactic that use to wake him up right away. She proceeds to slap him a few times. Aidan wakes up and is stunned to see Nicole right in front of him.

"Am I dreaming?" Aidan asked.

"I hope not." Nicole responded.
