Jesse’s POV

I knew I couldn’t do it. I knew it. I sucked at one night stands. The whole weekend, I kept wondering what the beautiful girl I had slept with was doing. I didn’t even know her name. I have her number though, when she handed me her phone, I had texted myself to save the number. Tricky I know. She was the best fuck I ever had. I’m not exaggerating, I had jerked off countless times in the weekend just thinking about that night. Oh god, what I wouldn’t do just to see her again. I debated texting her so many times I had her number memorized. Etched into my brain.

I moved to this neighborhood after my dad got a promotion and a big job offer. We bought a fancy house and I was to start Mandells Weighter High on the following Monday. I wasn’t nervous. I was never nervous but I had a little sliver of hope that my girl was going to be there.

Valerie’s POV

A steady stream of swear words courses through my head the whole morning. Oh god. Tyler was going to know about Trinity and I. He was going to know our weekend activities and he’s going to fuck off. He’s going to break up with me and I’m going to lose the bet and get my 100 bucks taken off me. For some reason the him leaving part hurt me more than the losing the bet bit. I walk into History, the only class I have with Tyler. He’s at the very back with a bunch of guys whose faces I faintly remember. He’s saved me a seat and I slide in next to him.

“No way! You go out with Valerie?” the blonde guy exclaims. Tyler smiles smugly “Hell yeah I do.” He turns to me and kisses me on the cheek. I’m quite surprised most guys will probably kiss me full on the lips possibly even with tongue just to prove that I was his. I like that he didn’t. I like it a lot. The other mousy haired guy fully just stops and stares at me. “Didn’t you have an affair with Mr. Reys?” he comments snidely. My face heats immediately, how’d they know about that? I had seduced him to prove that I could and we had kept it very low profile. I had ended it, no bitter feelings and he was still teaching here. I paste what’s hopefully a convincingly innocent smile with a perfect look of confusion. “Mr. Rey’s my last year’s English teacher?” Before they can respond, Tyler shuts them up with a forceful look and some choice words I do not care to repeat. They slink away right before Ms. Germales comes in, wearing a cape as usual. Ms. Germales always wears a cape, in the summer light and breezy ones, in the winter, thick and velvety. Today, she’s wearing a dark khaki one and I shudder at her horrible fashion sense. She’s a good teacher, but isn’t appreciated due to her favoritism and all round bitchiness. Unfortunately for me, I wasn’t her favourite person in the world. It’s probably because I didn’t do anything she told me to do but she didn’t have to make it so obvious that she hated me. I sit on the edge of the desk, my feet on the chair, facing the wall at the back of the room. My bag is still on my shoulder and none of my ‘learning equipment’ is out. As she hands out some worksheets, and carelessly gives me an once-over with a dirty look. “Still sporting the promiscuous look are we Miss. Estell?” As she walks away, I throw a comment right back at her, loudly so everyone can hear. “Well, Miss, due to this promiscuous look” I emphasize the phrase she used. “I’ve gotten more guys in my mere 17 years, than your… How old are you Miss? 60? Around 65?” The class sniggers. “Aww poor you, haven’t even married yet have you? Oh right, no guy has ever wanted to be with you.” I give her the same dirty once-over she gave me and put on my queen bitch smirk. “But judging by the way you look and your shitty attitude, I wouldn’t blame them.” I shake my head slowly, and look around the room like I’m bored with this conversation already. “No, I wouldn’t blame them at all.” I know I’m going to be sent to principal’s office for this but that whore deserved it. She opens her mouth and stutters “Y..Y.. You.” I roll my eyes and sigh loudly. “Save your breath bitch.” I saunter out of the room, swinging my hips, fully aware that all the male’s eyes are on my ass. Instead of going to the principal’s like a good girl, I head over to Trinity’s geography class and gesture at her through the window to come out. She gets a toilet pass and comes outside to join me. I fill her in with the events that happened just before and soon she’s pissing herself with laughter. We ditch school because I’m still fuming at what Ms. Germales said to me. Wordlessly I drive to the beach as I always do when I’m pissed and bury my toes in the sand. I take off my uniform, revealing my singlet and shorts underneath and go for a run along the edge of the sand where the water laps my feet as it pounds on the wet sand. My hair flies and it pisses me off and I’m tempted to cut it off with scissors. “Trinity, give me the scissors in your bag.” She shakes her head defiantly. “No Val, you are not going to try cutting your hair again.” I shoot her daggers. “Trin, it’s my hair, I’ll do what I want to do with it. Long hair pisses me off.” She sighs. We’ve done this many times before. “Come here.” Instead of me going over to her like she just told me to, she comes over to me and ties my hair up in a high ponytail. “Oh. Why didn’t I think of that?” I mumble, bummed that she’s right once again. She lets out her bell laugh then we get ice cream from Movenpick, which is just across the road. We drive back to school, just in time for Fabric. We don’t want to miss anything, beside it being our favourite class and the only class we look forward to daily, we can’t afford to lose lessons before the show. Trinity gets to work immediately to design her emo outfit while I loiter around looking through magazines and others’ designs to get motivated. No ideas come to me and I’m tense with frustration when we get to lunch. Trinity and I get to our table first and we sit there, waiting for the others. Our regular group of friends has now expanded to accommodate Tyler, Rosa hung out with her boyfriend, the quarterback so much, we barely see her anymore. The others Cooper, Harrison, Nate and Brooke, surge in with the crowd. Tyler is still not here even after everyone has bought their lunches and is settling down to eat. Finally I spot him coming towards us through the crowd and following him is the blonde boy from this morning. My blood runs cold as they talk and laugh like old buds. Oh Gawd. Tyler knows. I nudge Trinity and gesture in their direction subtly. Trinity looks at them approaching and I can feel their chemistry, the electric charge running between them as soon as their eyes meet. They don’t take their eyes off each other as the Blondie sits down opposite us and Tyler sits next to me. Maybe Tyler didn’t know. If he did, he wouldn’t come near me by will. “Hey you okay?” He whispers, putting an arm around me. I nod curtly, not taking my eyes off the blonde even for a millisecond.

 Jesse’s POV

It’s her. Yes. Finally I get the chance to make her mine.

Valerie’s POV

The others are talking about an insanely hot chick that’s also new to this school. Judging by their excitement, she must be one smokin’ thang. Hopefully Trinity and I will make a new friend. All those friendly thoughts go out the window as I see her walk in the café. All eyes are on her yet she seems to find mine and focuses on them. She says mutters something, presumably to me but of course I can’t hear it but I am highly trained in the art of lip reading and as soon as those words are out of her mouth, I know I’m not forgiven. The words wereYou bitch.
